Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe new dorms have no internal bathroom. Around dorm 622, all doors slam very loudly, by day and by night...
Friendly staff! Nice building and courtyard! Good location! Very good breakfast!

United KingdomI think more help and advice could have been given with information about getting to the railway station in rush hour on the evening when we left. It seems that taxis are not available between 5pm and 6pm in Liege. If we had known this we would have taken the bus earlier. Fortunately the bus arrived at the station in time to catch our train but in the end we only had 10 minutes before our train was due to depart..
Room was nice, breakfast was good, staff were helpful.

NetherlandsThe shared dorm room was at the streetside of the building, so the noise of the street woke me up during the night multiple times. Besides that, it was quiet hot in the upper parts (where my room, shower and toilet were) of the hostel.
They have a lot of places to chill and also a bar with drinks for reasonable prices. The breakfast was really great and good!

Very efficient checkin and got some great recommendations from the staff for places to eat and drink. Terrace gets a bit noisy but it closes at 11 so can't complain! Very good overall.

NetherlandsThere were not AC or fans in the room. We slept with the window open and there was a lot of noise from cars and people wandering late night in the streets. Apparently, it is unsafe to park your car right next to the hotel due to burglary. Fortunately, nothing I did experience.
Nice atmosphere, decent breakfast, free parking nearby, lovely city to explore. Great combinations for a family trip.

NetherlandsThe (10p) room was noisy, because of other guests and cars outside. It’s annoying that you need to use the keycard to go even to the toilet. For sharing with so many people it’s quite a high price

United StatesThe beds only have USB chargers, not regular power outlets. This was very inconvenient since I was not traveling with a USB cable. The bathroom was very dark. The location was not very nice, but it was really the city as a whole being dirty and run down.
The breakfast was free and had decent food. Cookie butter exciting to have with the spreads. The bar in the lobby was nice.

Luxembourgwe did not find any.
1. Room was basic, (It is a youth hostel;) but Everything is clean and well organized. There was some comment which said the water pressure was weak. but our room had good enough one. and room was really warm, and for us the bunk bed is really comfortable. 2. Our room did not have any table( I guess it depends on the room), but no problem. there was vast and comfy living room like common place. (The building was renovated from a covent.. so had huge floor) my family can snack and hand out on the couch. my 6 yo daughter really liked to play in there(card game, pool and reading books.) 3. As many comment mentioned, the staffs are really friendly and helpful. I guess that is one of reason my family prefer to Stay in Youth Hostel. 4. location is good. after few minutes walk , you can access to the bridge, then straight to the main down town, Around Youth hostel, there are some good cafe and bakery and supermarkets. 5. breakfast is also basic. Usually I "eat"only coffee for breakfast, so I can not tell the details. But my husband said it is Basic but good enough to get energy to start a day. 6. When we get a chance to visit Liege, we would stay here again.
