The tv screen was smashed so when we plug it in we could just see a crack.the shower has the metal bars rusty

South Africa10 reviewsDisappointingThe lift was small, the toilet and shower were broken , the staff hardly spoke English and the door handle didn’t feel secure we could hardly sleep due to the noise from the other rooms and the constant footsteps from the unit above us, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone coming to stay in Brussels for the first time, I think it’s more suited for the locals who know their way around and can speak French or Arabic.

The area didn’t feel safe, clean, or even lively.”Walls were very very thin and you could hear people’s snoring, alarms, and footsteps through the walls and even ceilings/floors. The plumbing was odd and the toilet ran for a while. The sink was very loud and water in shower was either piping hot or ice cold. Rooms were barely furnished, just the beds. Linens were stained and while clean not pristine.
It was a place to sleep.

The room needed more cleaning, especially the bathroom and a proper window (the one found in the room was broken and there was little light). The TV set didn't work. The walls were so thin that you could hear your neighbours. In sum, the hotel could be recommended for one night only

Loose taps, curtains nailed up so couldn't be opened, mattress like a sack of rocks, only 1 pillow. A double glazing unit used as a shower screen! Shower curtain rail there, but curtain itself missing. Room was never cleaned over 4 nights. No refills of shower gel or shampoo -- had to go out at half past midnight and buy my own. No coat hangers.
Location good. Handy for FOSDEM: one tram, straight to ULB Solbosch. But Google Maps routing poor and led me an unnecessary 1.1km walk from Botanique. Booking.com info led me to believe it closed at midnight; it doesn't, staff on the door all night. Free, *fast* wifi. Breakfast was available but I didn't have time. Hot shower, good water pressure, plenty of towels. Steep €40 penalty for late checkouts, but lots of warnings so I avoided it.
