Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe lack of ANY attention at the hotel - feeling like we were not welcome
I selected this hotel, specifically as it had a Thai restaurant. The YAC Thai restaurant emailed the day before to say they would be closed! On arrival, we walked in the front door to be hit by a wall of sound from the (very full) bar - nobody was present at reception, I had previously checked-in on line, as instructed by the 7 emails received in the preceding 3 days BUT never received confirmation of my check-in. The Online check-in required all my passport detail and my date of birth yet I never saw any statement of GDPR and I question howe much detail should be requested - since they had enough for anyone to steal my identity. It also asked for detail on my fellow guest - so I checked my wife in as well. Back to reception... noone present so we went to the check-in podium - anticipating entering a reservation number BUT NO - this system displays all the rooms that have not been checked-in yet; so I have a complete list of all the potential guest names in front of me - GDPR???? Strangely it listed our room under my wife's name, not mine that had booked it. Eventually we fathomed how to use the system and selected room 2, as that listed a mini-bar (the noise from the hotel bar being the driver BUT the mini-bar was EMPTY) and the system sent an email that I could use a link on my phone to open my room so we did get in. The Room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom even had underfloor heating! That was a redeeming factor - the hotel might have got a 5 star review if anyone had greeted us or made us at all welcome. We drove out to a nearby Thai Restaurant (the hotel one having let us down) and had a nice meal - arriving back about 10:15; the hotel door was locked but no problem as the phone also opens the front door - NOT we tried for ages until eventually a guest was walking through reception. We really could not face paying 20e for breakfast as we did not trust anything! We had an email telling us how to check out but the system mucked me about!!!

The staff was friendly and professional. They took the time to answer the few questions I had concerning the regulations around Covid, since the Belgian regulations changed a few days before and I didn't know hoe exactly.

United KingdomThe room provided (number 202) had an overwhelming musky cigarette smoke to it with poor sound proofing. The slamming of adjacent and opposite rooms could be heard and felt through out the night. The biggest disappointment was how staff conducted breakfast; my family and I were asked multiple times by staff if we are having breakfast and which rooms we were from in an interrogative and provacative manner which was very unprofessional.
