Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

VietnamThe alternative one is not convenient for traveling as it far from the center. I have to move around with full of luggages and the stair is too small for taking all luggages to the room. The staff who talked to me about the problem wasn’t very nice!
The property experienced a technical problem then i was transferred to a new ones. It happened twice until i can be settled at a final one. The alternative option was good, spacious and convenient.

IndiaThere should be somebody at the place or should be available on phone.. I called many times on the number given but no one responded.
It was not easy to locate the property and on top of that the room keys we were clueless inspite of they giving the codes, it was like a treasure hunt to find keys and to add to that was the parking spot dedicated. It took us around 1 hour to finally locate and settle in the room. This was our first experience in air bnb and it was a struggle with kids .

NetherlandsSeems like municipality of Antwerp is trying to scare tourists away, allowing open-air discotheques at 7am on Friday. Be advised, the stairs are steep and narrow, not an issue, but something to keep in mind.
It's a perfect location to visit the city. Plenty of cafe's and restaurants around. Very close to historical districts. The quest of getting the keys and accessing the parking was explained in tiny details and easy to follow. The apartment is very stylish, spacious, with a good kitchenette. I picked up some interesting design ideas :) I was especially happy about the soundproof windows! Some people with an alternative mindset decided to schedule a discotheque at 7am on the square right in front of the building. With a good sound, lights, good songs, but still at 7am. With closed windows it was a nuisance, but manageable. With a slightly open window I couldn't hear a person standing next to me.
