How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Bar and restaurant closed which meant we had to walk (1km) to local restaurants. Not a massive issue, but would have been better to have in-house options.

Customer service of the male staff. He never gave us a smile nor did he bother to ask how our stay was. He didn't make us feel welcome. The mini-fridge in our room no. 21 could do with a replacement as it didn't cool properly.
Overall great room : very generous size room and we slept very good due to a good bed/mattress. Breakfast buffet 👍 Constantly hearing all kind of birds chirping was just great! Need to add though that our room was located at the back / side of hotel with great views of the direct green & nature.

Arrived but sadly told that the restaurant was closed for dinner. Excellent to have a coffee machine in reception but no matter how hard I tried I could not make a cup of coffee. Maybe leave instructions next to the machine.
Excellent facilities, very pleasant gentleman greeted us on reception, free parking outside the front door and a very good breakfast, the coffee and pate were excellent.

Our big issue is how the property is displayed and described on the booking.com website. It gives every indication of having a bar and restaurant which we were intending to use on at least the first night. Beautiful, professional photographs of the bar and what appears to be two restaurants. One café-style, the other more formal and upmarket. Right now neither bar nor restaurants are available. We were only told that by email the day before arrival! Staff confirmed that at present and probably in the future the bar and restaurant is effectively a conference and banqueting area.
The location is very good with plenty of car parking. The rooms are excellent. Clearly been updated in the past few years. Modern and spotless. No air-conditioning but the heating is easily controlled and quickly heats the room even in mid-winter. No tea or coffee maker in the room but is available 24-7 in reception. Continental breakfast was all that could be reasonably desired. Excellent choice and taken in a very attractive room with a view of the woods beyond the deck outside. Would and probably will happily stay again..

Hotel located is easy accessible. At the same time it is located in nice, green area. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Breakfast was good. WiFi is fast and works well. Highly recommended for short stays.

bedroom disposition with TV far away from the bed, we couldn’t use it. no water bottles provided, we had to order some from the hotel reception (8€ for 1 liter…) check-in not available from 14h to 16h no services on Mondays

On arrival no one on reception. My husband found a gentleman who was not as welcoming as he could have been! The same gentleman was exactly the same at breakfast the next morning. A little off putting.
The hotel was perfect for our needs. I asked for quiet rooms close together and our needs were met. Rooms were large. Beds very comfortable. Lady who checked us out lovely.
