WiFi was tricky probably due to location on the canal but easily forgiven due to location and beautiful suites.

We remain confused about the various switches in our room and we weren’t sure how to use the wood fire/gas heater/ coffee machine/ bidet 😝- but Im sure if we contacted our host she would have explained. How terrific to have such luxuries though! It wasn’t really an issue as we spent most of our time walking and touring around Bruges. Everything was wonderful-but instructions in room might help others like us?

I liked the welcome we received from our host! Mareke was so warm and friendly. She was very genuine about hoping we enjoyed our time in Bruges. Our breakfast host was also the most affable person and made breakfast seem special. We were so cozy and comfortable and couldn’t believe how beautiful the location was. While on a canal boat, the captain pointed out the suites (sister accommodation de Swaene) and said ‘That is the most romantic hotel in all of Bruges’. It had the most lovely feeling of old charm and warmth. We got a treat in the room for my son’s birthday which was a lovely touch. Canal Suites leaves you with a wonderful feeling- can’t say I’ve ever described a hotel like that before!! But it does and topped off our wonderful memories of Bruges.

The Canal Suites is a beautiful place to stay. The ladies on reception were delightful,so friendly & welcoming. It was really lovely sitting at the windows watching the boats go past. Great location.

We had a small problem with the wifi as it seemed to be slow. The check in is at the sister hotel across the canal and I would suggest that the hotel sends a message or email to the arriving client, on the day of arrival, where exactly to go for the check in,

The bath/shower is very high and difficult to climb into.

The room was overlooking the canal. It was beautifully furnished and very clean. Fantastic location near restaurants and all the sights. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. By the canal, really classy and comfortable room. And it was great value for the money as well. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. 100% recommended.

Canal Suites is AMAZING! The rooms are stunning and the views and location are even better! It's location is perfect and the views of the canal is so picturesque. Can not recommend this property enough. Truly the best place to stay in Brugge!

Difficult to say anything bad

I stay here whenever I go to bruges (if its available) it's classic Flemish style and the rooms look out onto the canal. It's a 2 minute walk if that to the main square so very central.

The fridge was not on and we had to pull it out to plug it in. There was no stopper in the bath, but this dd get sorted. The TV was small and basic. We were not confident in using the safe. An option to take breakfast at the sister hotel would be good. The chair in the room was not vey comfy (see picture!).

Very central location, easy to walk into the main squares and all the main attractions. The canal tours go past the room on the canal. The staff at the sister hotel were excellent and very helpful.

The sinks and shower faucets should be fixed. When we turned any of them on brown water came out and we had to let it run for a while to clear out. This happened the night we got there and we finally got clean water but then it the morning the water was brown again

No iron. a small thing, not a complaint

Location is amazing. It's a suite, not a hotel with reception. (but you can use the reception at the partner hotel over the road). The rooms are well decorated.

Walking in the rain with luggage to stay over the canal in a different building, instructions for how lights worked would have helped, there was a fireplace that we could not figure out how to work, main door with lock pad repeatedly left open, pillows were odd like “my pillow” chunky
