Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaExquisite little boutique hotel, really nice rooms, lovely staff members, breakfast was excellent and yeah just a fantastic hotel. The rooms are very clean, bed is very comfortable. We loved the location as it was quiet and away from the main square but only a 10min walk to get there. Bed was massive, I am 6'4 and my feet didn't hang off the edge. Absolutely loved staying there.

ItalyWe had a small incident with a very weak/almost no water flow in the shower in the morning on one of the days, as explained due to water consumption rush hour.
A true boutique hotel! Excellent location, off the main fuss, but minutes walk from the center, modern tasteful interiors, friendly staff helped with topnotch tips for bars and restaurants around the city. We had a very pleasing and relaxing stay. Definitely would come back! Thank you!

United KingdomNot an issue for us at all. But maybe mention the steps up to room in the roof on the website. Lucky we were 2 couples and we took this lovely room. However my in laws would never have got up there with their knees.
The little extras (welcome drink & chocolates). The very attentive staff. The wonderfully renovated building and out door bar/tapas area. The big comfy bed. The amazing 3 tiered breakfast with hot options available too. We used to come to this hotel many year ago when it was The Edmond (faulty towers) always eventful. This now has such a chilled and lovely vibe. Staff go above and beyond.

BulgariaThe staff was a bit rude at times specifically the waiters at dinner time. And when we asked the receptionist for a recommendation for where we should eat authentic food she just gave the classic tourist picks and didn’t really put an effort to tell us something more interesting/local.
The food at the restaurant was exceptional and the room was cozy, clean, and nice with the fire place. Location is great, Minnewater is next to the lake of love so you’re steps away from all the chocolate shops in the center but just far enough to where the tourists and the noise don’t disturb you so you really get a good night’s rest in the comfy beds!

United KingdomThe only thing for me I didn't particularly like was the parking charges, this is not a negative. If you check into a hotel and are staying there I feel you should not pay to park at the place you stay at, however this is my own opinion. Most hotels in Bruges do this, it has not put me off staying there and I would stay at the hotel again as its lovely.
Very nice hotel, very pleasant staff and good location. The hotel is located around a 10 minute walk to the square, its tucked away down a quiet little street with parking available. To park on the road in Bruges its about 17 euro per day, the hotel charges 20 per day ( 2023 ) which was our preferred parking, the hotel smelt lovely and felt very nice, the restaurant and outdoor seating ( heated with fire ) were also lovely. We checked into a budget room or small room which we stayed in for 2 nights, it was small but we did know this upon booking, it was very clean and perfectly adequate for our needs, If going back to Bruges I would stay here again. A lovely welcome drink in the bar on the evening was a nice touch.
