How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A shuttle to/from the airport is listed here, however without a note that it costs 20 euros each way. That adds an extra 40 euros to your stay, pretty hefty. Definitely obnoxious but I would say this is still the best hotel in the area. There are not many hotels closer to the airport due to the layout.
This hotel was really clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. I arrived at 2pm and was able to enter the room right away. There is a supermarket right next door which was very convenient! The room had a fridge and coffee maker. This is definitely the move if you need to stay near the airport.

The restaurant was a bit pricey. We were placed on the 3rd floor the first time and I asked to change room because it was very hot and the AC system did not keep the room cool. After changing room we were fine and happy.
Very nice lobby, rooms were nice, very clean. Restaurant is nice (but pricey).

Nice and clean room, comfortable bed and pleasant staff. The restaurant and bar by the reception was also very nice. This hotel is great value!

By the dinner, we have ordered a fish dishes as we don't eat meat. The presentation of the food was fantastic, but the taste wasn't pleasant at all, in good words... Don't like to complain but i'm sure this can be done better...
Always happy to be guest of Van Der Valk hotels.

The shower can't be closed and the floor is designed in such a way that water tends to run into the bathroom. Obviously this is a bit nitpicking and not a big issue at all, which shows that the hotel is very pleasant.
Nice spacious room. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Shuttle to the airport was arranged and on time.

The fitness room just had 4 machine and not even weights. Not in line with the hotel. The view from the room of course is not so nice because is basically next to a highway; I really don't like carpeting because even though they clean the room everyday, there will always be hair and dirt on the carpet anyway
The room was nice and clean (even though I'm not a fan of the carpeting, which can never be really cleaned). The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices, both sweet and salty and it also has a station for fresh omelets, a machine for pancakes and fresh orange juice. The restaurant of the hotel is nice and good, a bit expensive maybe, but very elegant and with a big terrace. The location is good if you have a car to move around or want to stay near the airport; and there is a free parking. There is a useful supermarket just in front of the hotel

It said that a shuttle service was available. There was no shuttle so it cost €20 each way in a taxi which was unplanned for

Wifi on the 5th floor was really very very very slow. Noticed that in the lobby it wasn't any better so it could be a general problem.
Comfortable room and friendly staff. Restaurant was very good.

No mini bar and the vending machines had little to offer ( we checked in after midnight).
Modern, clean and great value for money. Breakfast is a must. Free parking.
