How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It's probably in all hostels, but the sheets on the beds...
We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of this hostel. Nice staff. Good breakfast. We expected more noise at night, but it was very quiet. Great experience!

The hostel is very close to the railway station Charleroi Center and to the station of bus A1 that goes to/from the airport. This is a basic accommodation (for example, there is no soap in the bathroom, and towels are provided for an additional payment of 1.50€), but my goal was just to sleep one night in a single room before going to the airport in the morning. The room was absolutely quite (no noise from other rooms or from outside), the bed was simple but comfortable, the breakfast was in fact very good for this category (bread, ham, cheese, pancakes, jam, etc.) To summarize, the hostel completely met my expectations.

The breakfast is missing fresh and vegetarians options.
The room was big and clean, nice common area, friendly staff and information about the area. I've seen they also organise ateliers and other activities.

When I was checking, already two other guests were there. Toilet bins almost filled and it was smelly.
The location is really good. Close to bus, train and tram station. And shopping mall is in next door. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is so good. Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable. Toilets and wash rooms are bit small, but ok.

A very good location, near the train station and bus station to the airport. Everything went smoothly; the staff was nice. The lounge and the bar area look very good. In the morning, you can grab a coffee and a snack even if you leave before the breakfast opening hour.

The walls are thin and I could hear the talking of other people, but it did not bother me much. I would advise you to have earplugs in case you are a sensitive person.
I had a great experience with this hostel. The rooms are super clean. I was impressed by the bathroom, it exceeded my expectations. I was travelling with a friend and we were lucky to be the only ones in the room. The receptionist was nice and I appreciated that they use homemade, natural soup.

The snoring and sweaty smell of other guests, though this may potentially happen in any hostel.
Ideal if transiting for an early morning flight, as I was. First bus leaves at 4.30am at the bus station, quai 18, a few hundred metres away. The hostel is clean, comfortable and secure. You can access apple juice, coffee and some snacks for breakfast if leaving very early. Next to the main mall.

There was nothing that i could say i disliked.
Great coordination for arrival - I felt they really cared about me as a guest (personnel is very friendly). Great infrastructure and location, and the process for checking is quite fast.

I would like to have an outdoor breakfast option. Sitting on a balcony or patio would have been lovely. More tea assortment would be nice. But everything was good.
Breakfast was good, basic but good. Typical European, continental breakfast. Cheese, ham, juices, tea, coffee. Sweet things were good as well.

Insufficient care for guests with early departure - breakfast does not correspond to the price paid: in the kitchen there were only oranges, packaged biscuits and tea/coffee. It would be better to give the possibility to pay for the room without breakfast than to make such a breakfast for those who leave the establishment before the planned breakfast. It is not fair that the fee is the same and the provision is different.
Good rooms, it was clean. Modern interior.
