Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsOne small thing that we pointed out to staff is that when we entered the room there was a slight odor coming from the bathtub pipeworks.
Amazing quiet location and the hotel is indeed in a castle which is luxurious but cozy at the same time. Staff was excellent, the room was very nice and comfortable, everything was perfect!

EstoniaBreakfast could have included better quality coffee. Apart from the excellent fine dining option, there could also have been an option for a simpler lunch/dinner at the château, particularly for guests staying for multiple days. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon when booking our room and during our stay, and would have appreciated some token of congratulations from the château.
The pool was fantastic for cooling down on a hot day and for sitting next to on cooler evenings. The interior design of the rooms is excellent, and we particularly appreciated the attention to wonderful smells (using diffusers and candles). The grounds are beautiful and very soothing, and the strings of fairy light lamps very romantic.

BelgiumSome more amenities could be added to the room like: 1) Extra towel for the floor since waters spills outside while taking the bath, 2) Extra toileteries (we had to ask for missing soap and shower gel), 3) Window blinders (duirng summer it gets bright very early!), 4) A proper mirror above the wash basin in the bathroom. 5) A bar in the bathroom to hang wet towels.
The Castle (Chateau) property is amazing experince worth to be explored fully duirng the stay inclduing the common areas, the swimming pool, jacuzzi, bar etc. The breakfast was of large variety and delicious. We took the library suit which had a very nice bathroom and views over the hill. During the Huly 21st nationla holiday in belgium the 6 course dinner was amazing!

NetherlandsWe had to shower in the bathtub and there was no place to put the shower. Not a major issue for us and it would not stop me from booking this room again.
The location is amazing, the pool, sauna and jacuzzi were very nice. Breakfast is great. We really enjoyed staying here. After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to book. It is a family that is running this chateau and I think it should be treated as such. It looks like some of the reviews here expect a five star hotel experience. However, I enjoyed this so much more as the quality of the food, rooms and facilities were amazing and the setting was more relaxed. 100% coming back to this place!

Dinner was magnificent and the wine paring made it extra special. Rooms were comfortable and cozy, the pool was clean and O have never felt so relaxed before. Thank you.

Beautiful and tastefully renovated Chateaux run by extremely friendly and welcoming owner (your mixology Wizard) 😉Atmosphere is very relaxed and we felt at home from the moment we stepped in. Our library Suite was well appointed and very comfortable. Original plan of one evening dinner has failed miserably due to absolutely fabulous and amazing food prepared by Chef Jurgen, hands down some of the best meals we’ve ever had. Ended up dining three out of four nights. What a treat 🥂 Thank you very much Guys for having us. It was marvelous 🥂🥂🥂👏👏👏

NetherlandsPlace is still somewhat under construction. Needs time to integrate the other buildings on this site.
Authentic location with an amazing outdoor area (pool, sauna, tennis court). Dinner is prepared by a superb chef using local ingredients. Wines and fantastic. Breakfast is relaxed with plenty of choice of products and is very well organised. If you're looking for a break away for a long weekend in the Ardennes or a location for a larger group, this is the place to go.

Israel- The bathroom with a bathtub is not comfortable to take a shower. - We were expecting a slightly more indulgent dinner compared to the price. - The chateau has an impressive wine cellar, however we were unable to get a list of wines for dinner, and were served the ‘default’ wines, which were not necessarily to our taste.
A renovated chateau with beautiful nature surrounding it, Kind staff with a desire to help with a smile.

ItalyRoom did not have everything that booking advert showed, as extra towels for the swimming pool and coffe machine. One of the bath towel actually included in the room services was dirty, but they changed it promptly once reported. Personnel greeted us with a smile and tried their best to help when required, however there were several incomprehension as it wasn't always possible to speak with someone who could speak English. Nobody offered to show us around the property nor mention anything about the castle history. The outside of the castle seems not to belong to the hotel and it's left almost degrading, which takes away the beauty and feeling that one would expect if we look at the actual pics posted in the listing. The swimming pool did not looked cleaned; there was a yellow substance coming up from the bottom that would dissolve at touch, but did not look healthy. Jacuzzi was available but shared with all guests, which is ok (it just needs to be made clear in the advert as it said that it could.be booked for private use). The sauna was there but personnel should explain how it works and add a shower next to it (during our stay nobody used it). It would have been nice to have a list of drinks but there wasn't one and even when requested to mention the price of wines etc, they couldn't give us an answer (it was mentioned that maybe online, but there wasn't anything available). Eating at the restaurant could be quite expensive and a menu should be given to guests at their arrival so that if they have questions or anything, eventual doubts can be solved before deciding if to actual book a table or not (reservation is requested up to 24h before as apparently there is much capacity). Overall it's not that the hotel is bad, but they should advertising it differently and for the price they ask, it ends up not to live up to the standard.
Mattress very comfortable, nice surroundings, personnel with a smile, jacuzzi available and included. Breakfast with many choices.
