Great traditional hotel in the centre of beautiful Houffalize. Friendly and helpful staff, a good breakfast and a really nice restaurant. Rooms were no frills but comfortable. Ideal free parking right next to the hotel.

Lack of sound isolation, no air conditioning so we had to keep the windows open as the temperature was high and the kitchen smell was in the room unfortunately

Some noise from other rooms, not having even a couple of options to choose from with dinner.

We stayed for a long weekend with the half board package and were very well taken care of. The buffet breakfast was good though if you got there late, tough luck. The dinners were good, though there weren't options to choose from which was unexpected. The town and surrounding forest was so charming and lovely, and besides a spot of bad weather, we had an excellent trip. Absolutely would come again.

The room looked clean in the beginning, but I accidentally spilled some water and used a towel to clean it up. The towel was brown all over. They should wet clean the floor more often. Not a big issue for me and I don't have a comparison to other hotels where I haven't done this before.

Friendly staff, room had a lot of space. You can bring a dog. There is a restaurant in the hotel and you automatically get a table reserved for you. That's good service.

Each day there were huge delivery trucks next to the hotel, which not only produced lot of noise but also exhaust gases into the room. The bath room was a bit worn, although modern. Breakfast was basic. Old flat screen TV without internet. When the kitchen was open, in much of the hotel including the rooms the cooking could be smelled. It was difficult to find a parking space for our car near the hotel; in the end we left the car at a supermarket parking quite some distance away from the hotel.

Acceptable modern room (we had the "luxury" room on the top floor) , good wifi,, comfortable bed. We also had dinner in the hotel, which was good home cooking, but nothing gastronomical. Staff is really hard working and do their best.

The hotel was easy to find (Houffalize is not that big, that helps). Parking was clearly indicated. Staff at reception desk was very friendly, very helpful. We made a dinner reservarion by mail a few days before arriving, which was taken into account. The reservation was needed, because it was fully bookef that night. The breakfast area is a decent size, with a lot of options (breads, croissants, pains au chocolat, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruits, ...). The rooms were tidy and cosy. The bathroom was small, but had everything we needed. There are spa facilities in the hotel (no bathing suit), with bathrobes available at the reception. We had dinner in the restaurant, very friendly staff, delicious local food. We recommend this hotel.

The bathroom was a little dated and could use a little freshening up. Everything was very clean, it's just that it showed wear and tear, especially in the shower, which is a little unfortunate. The room was correct and clean, but the bathroom was in my opinion not 4* level. I have to admit I took the basic room, but that shouldn't matter, in the sense that it is still a 4* hotel.

breakfast was excellent, including sparkling wine. Nice selection of breads, coldcuts, etc. Bacon, eggs, granolas, yoghurt, all the stuff you expect in a 4 star hotel breakfast. Dinner was excellent. I had the Grey shrimp croquets that were excellent, and the Italian Steak which was fabulous!! Highly recommended. I took a nice bottle of Montepulciano d' Abruzzo which was excellent value for money.

Net curtains in room 218 were filthy, the room temperature was low and could not be controlled by guests, and the water in the shower was lukewarm - we reported this to reception but there was no improvement.

Dog friendly, bar and restaurant on site, free parking at the hotel, lift to all floors, excellent breakfast. The room TV had English channels.

Most of the staff, including the restaurant staff understood very little English, except the lady at check in. She was wonderful! Bathroom needed updating & repair of grouting. No safety bars in very narrow European tub/shower. Could have used softer pillows & duvet; they were too bulky & hard/lumpy.
