Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn our final evening we ordered take-out McDonalds and were borderline told-off by the hosts not to..! Felt slightly intrusive given we are considerate guests and were otherwise made to feel very comfortable.
The building is stunning, and we felt very well cared for. The freestanding bath was a highlight!

CanadaThe breakfast was excellent and the hosts were lovely. We were just a short walk from the main square. The only surprise was that there was no sign on the building or near the door. You just have to trust the address is correct and ring the doorbell when you arrive.

A spacious room in a stunning 18th century house, beautifully restored. You will feel like minor royalty staying here, a short walk to the Markt. The hosts are most gracious and provide a buffet of breakfast items. A lovely rear garden and 2 sitting rooms are yours to enjoy as well.

United StatesEverything about our stay was better than we could have imagined. The communication prior to our arrival made parking a breeze. Our room was wonderful and we appreciated the chocolate left on our bed each day. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and varied enough for us. If ever in Bruges again (and I very much hope we are), we’d return to this B&B.

The guesthouse was a short walk from the centre of town in a quiet area. All of our three rooms were decorated beautifully in a traditional and authentic style. The beds were so comfy. Our hosts Gerrit and Corrina were delightful, so friendly and knowledgeable about Bruges. They even remembered all of our 6 names throughout our time with them. When we had an anxious moment about a couple of lost passports, they came to our aid immediately. We cannot thank them enough. We would definitely stay here again.

Everyone should experience staying in a charming Bed and Breakfast built in the 1730's at some time in their life! This place is a delight, from the warm welcome of Gerrit & Corrina, to the cozy beds you'll never want to leave, the gorgeous rooms, the peaceful garden and the lovely breakfasts. It's located just a few minutes from the main square of this delightful town, so you have easy access to everything nearby. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.l

Our stay at B&B De Corenbloem made our visit to Bruges even more enjoyable. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and hospitable and we felt welcomed from the minute we walked into the house. The house itself is probably one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in, we absolutely loved our room and we even came home earlier than usual in the evening to enjoy the house after a day of exploring. Getting to the main locations in Bruges is also very easy since the house is not even 10 minutes away from the Belfry. Another huge positive was the breakfast that was included in our stay - we visited for Valentine’s day so on the 14th the breakfast tables had heart confetti all over them with special cakes to enjoy - it was an amazing start to the day! At the end of our stay the hosts let us leave our suitcase at the house while we explore Bruges for an extra few hours before our train even though we had checked out, which was very helpful. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at De Corenbloem if you are looking for a memorable experience with wonderful and welcoming hosts.

Everything, From the street the property is quite plain but as soon as George greets you at the front door you realise you’ve stepped into a hidden gem. Immaculate home with a wonderful garden , decor is just lovely as is the comfy bed. The shower had plenty of hot water and an added bonus was the quaint hip bath. Breakfast was perfect with lots of very fresh choices , freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs of your choice plus much more. I loved it as everything was so pristine George and Claudine obviously put alot of love and hardwork into this house and it is much appreciated. 100% recommend, you will not be disappointed.
