In the evening, a hornet flew into our room, it was unpleasant. In the evening, we could not have the light on and ventilate, the room lacked mosquito nets for the windows

A hotel in a historic mining colony building near the mining museum on the edge of the workers' colony's historic district. Upstairs room with reasonable size and equipment, in the end quite pleasant, the first look is a bit deceiving. I don't remember the bathroom, maybe it could use a little innovation, but otherwise fine. There is a bar on the ground floor, but it does not interfere with accommodation. Large parking lot.

The hotel is not super modern, but has a nice theme, connecting to the mining-history that is so prominent in this area of the country.

We loved the friendliness of the staff. Our bikes could be parked in the back, behind the locked fence during the night. The room & bathroom were superclean. My son loves to walk barefoot in a bedroom and this was no problem here! The toilet has blue led-lights on the lid, so you don't need to turn on the big light in the bathroom during the night (and wake up the other person in the room). The buffet breakfast turned out to be excellent value for money, everything was very hygienic and fresh. We stayed only one night, during a biking trip, and I recommend this hotel for people on a budget, wanting a good place to stay.

The bathroom was really tiny and the toilet was squeezed in between the sliding entry door and the shower cabin, leaving little room to move your arms when sitting on it and no possibility for a toilet roll hanger. The mattresses of the single beds were somewhat 'used up' (without being too uncomfortable, though) and could do with a replacement, as well as the pillows that felt a bit 'lumpy'.

The room was very spacious and all was really clean (nice when you have to habit of walking barefoot). All standard amenities were provided, such as tea/coffee making facility, little fridge (with freezer compartment!), two tables, two chairs and an armchair, a separate large and sturdy suitcase bench next to the closet (which is a pleasant bonus one doesn't always get) and of course a modern flat-screen television and free Wi-Fi. The owners are really friendly and spare no effort to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Bathroom, mattress.

The host was very welcoming and friendly.I had to call, as my Navigation system did not find the exact address and they were extreme helpful. I only stayed 1 night and left before breakfast. I would say the bathroom needs a bit of renovation, and mattresses, but for the money I paid, it was definitely a good deal, Belgium is quite expensive, I find of late, but this was value for money.
