Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot enough pillows on the bed and the shower in the wet room could not be angled properly.
The location is perfect for me......but it is not too close to the centre for those keen on the tourist sites. Easy access to the railway station by bus (even though the tram is currently out of action)

United KingdomNot well kept. Pillow case was dirty and the sheets had hair on that were not mine. The panic button (if that's the name for it) in the bathroom was also on when I arrived and the door of the room was also open. Also, expensive.
It is a nice and pretty standard hotel. Feels recently renovated so the room seemed relevantly new and comfy. The bed was operated with a control to fit your body which seemed odd but comfy nonetheless.

LuxembourgMaybe not the best for a romantic trip, as you might find something more appealing in the centre of Ghent.
Excellent location and very friendly staff. Super clean hotel and with an underground parking garage. Recommended for business travellers and families. About 20 min walk from city centre.

GermanyIf one opened the window, there was some car noise at night from the nearby road. Not at all a problem with the windows closed.
Felt fresh and well run, it was easy to walk to the center of Gent from it.

United KingdomI wish they would put a coffee maker in the room- management please take note!
I like this hotel- its a outside the tourist centre but it is better than the downtown hotels as it is large, clean and modern. I find the downtown hotels in Ghent to be tired and grimy. Everything works well- heating, wifi, showers and breakfast is plentiful and very good.

United KingdomIt was my first time staying here. Quite close to the city. About 20 minutes if you are walking or 10-15mins on a bus. The room was spacious, and had the necessities needed. What I really appreciated were the extra touches, reception staff were friendly and full of recommendations for Gent. Overall good value for money and would stay there again!

Belgium- bed matrass and the pillow was not comfortable and gave both of us back and neck pain in the morning. Matrass was too soft and the pillow too high and square, so your head would be higher than the neck or the body - parking is for extra fee
- friendly and helpful staff - close to the center - free water in the room

GermanyI don't like rooms for disabled people. Even though I have reserved with more than 2 months in advance I got this type of room. Besides that, it was a good stay.
The area was closer to the city center than I expected. Good bus connection to the train station. The staff was very friendly. The gym was very well equipped. The hotel is practical and minimalist.

United StatesI dislike the fact that there is a motion sensor on the bathroom light with clear glass doors which disturbs my sleep when my partner uses the facility at night and visa versa. If there was a way of turning that off, we were not told. That's why I rate the bathroom only fair. Also the walk-in shower, while great for a handicapped person, makes for an unnecessary watery mess on the floor for us ordinary folk. While the breakfast was good, it seemed pricey (18 euros per person as I recall) for a pick-what's-pre-prepared style meal. I would be happy with a simpler, cheaper breakfast since I don't typically eat a big breakfast, but given the price I made it a major meal.
Chose for the location which is three blocks from my daughter's apartment. We came to Gent see her. Is a great facility for someone visiting the nearby Sint Lucas hospital with the bathroom clearly designed with potential hospital patients in mind, though this did not apply in our case. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety.

NetherlandsThere was no coffee/tea making facility in the room. Plus no relaxed seating for two, just the one chair at the desk. We did get an extra chair and small table when we asked for it.
