Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf they could have arranged for less rain during our stay, that would have been nice 😂, but as several people said “welcome to Belgium!”
Breakfast was wonderful. We did that every day. Annie and Christoff were warm and super helpful, providing directions, offering suggestions, and arranging a car on our final day.

It was such an old historical building with lots of good quality finishing touches. Its location was very close to the old city centre. The art work was particularly interesting.

IrelandDue to being an older building, some of the steps were a little hard to see, you have to watch where you are going!
The building was renovated recently and was well-appointed but also kept a lot of old-world charm. The location was ideal for exploring the old town of Ghent. The room was large and the artwork throughout the hotel was unique and interesting. A salon with comfortable furnishings and an outdoor terrace provided nice communal spaces to relax. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and featured tasty homemade cakes and jams.

Loved having a sitting area to relax and the balcony was an added bonus. Homemade cake everyday with tea and coffee and a fresh fantastic breakfast with homemade yoghurts, bread etc. Lovely friendly owners on hand for tips and advice. Highly recommend.

NetherlandsUnfortunately it is not possible to do a really early breakfast, being before 7 o clock on week days. Having the coffee and tea facilities in a sitting room is nice but I prefer to have this in my room.
Very well done renovation with nice classic rooms and very friendly staff. in the old town so all sites are less than 10 minutes walking distance but the room is super quiet

United StatesWe had a wonderful stay at Ganda Rooms and Suites and really enjoyed the city of Ghent. We used it as a home base to visit Ypres and Bruges, both of which we'd highly recommend, but Ghent was our favorite city in Belgium. Annik & Kristof are wonderful hosts, and their home is beautiful. We enjoyed the breakfast with fresh baked bread, meats, muesli, fruit, and eggs made to order. We would highly recommend a stay here

United StatesAbsolutely nothing - everything was great.
A huge room in a 1756 house on a quiet street, this was a great find. Close to all the major attractions. Our host was especially helpful, and the breakfast was wonderful. A word about Ghent: we didn't plan to be there, but changes in our plans took us there. What a lively, vibrant city, with over 70,000 students it just seemed like things were happening everywhere. We're glad we wound up there.

AustraliaOnly a couple of very minor did not likes - the slightly temperamental pin access and door handle to the room, coffee (prefer a strong espresso to get me going in the morning) and not having someone there on our arrival. Simple phone call and were let in within 10 minutes, but we've become used to the convenience of a 24-hour reception desks. As I say, minor issues given the other positives.
The location was excellent, a short 10-minute walk to a good selection of restaurants, the quays along the river front and the St Bavos Cathedral area. Our room was large and comfortable, and the upstairs lounge area with access to after hours refreshments was delightful. Our hosts Annik and Kristof were fantastic and offered some great insights into their city. Breakfast was also lovely, great bread, selection of cheeses and jams, and freshly cooked eggs.

Saudi ArabiaIt's a historic and old house, so you do hear some sounds from cracking wooden floors and staircases. And some street sounds from kids and cars, during the day.
This B&B is very beautiful, in a centuries' old monumental yet comfortable building with everything the modern traveler would expect. A 3 minute walk around the corner of all the historic tourist attractions of Gent. The host and hostess are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. And the city of Gent is probably one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited!
