How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

That we had to check out so early and breakfast was just until 10 oclock.
I liked that it was silent in the hostel and the breakfast was nice. The staff was friendly

Everyrhing was ok.
Close to train station and short walk to centre.breakfast was basic but for price was ok.was able to leave luggage early and after check out able to leave luggace to explore city more.

Heating is not very user friendly, we could not get our room under 25° in the night, which was way too warm. Can't open the windows fully. Beds are basic and not comfortable, ok for one night.
Great staff, breakfast always included (basic but good). Location is very good. Rooms are big. Secure storage for bikes available.

- the rooms were a little cold (17 degrees) - We didn't receive any bed sheets upon arrival - Some lights didn't work in our room
- great atmosphere - very kind staff - Great location (with easy access to trains, busses, and rental bikes) - Breakfast included (simple but nice) - affordable option in Hasselt without losing too much luxury

I had the only upper bed in the room and there were no sockets around. Bathroom sink was clogged.
Really good location right next to train station. Nice walk to city center. Good breakfast. Nice common area.

The bathrooms and showers are inside the rooms, making it impossible to use them at night without bothering other guests.
Good breakfast included. Safe bike parking makes it an excellent place for bikepackers. Each bed has a light and plug.

The cleanliness and smell of the rooms weren't terrible but could be better. The bed and pillow weren't comfortable for me personally.
Super friendly staff. Great location close to the train station. There was a nice lounge area with a bar. Locked luggage area available.

The room didn't look like it was cleaned properly before we arrived. The floor had sand and dust on it. One of the showers was cold and low pressure. The bathrooms smelled like they weren't cleaned. We had to buy wipes and wipe down everything. The mattresses were also dusty and uncleaned. The breakfast was quite lacking on one of the days we stayed (there wasn't even a toaster for the bread!!).
The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a free breakfast and it was good for the price. The room was spacious and we were surprised to have 2 showers (it was a 6 bed room). It was right outside the station and in a seemingly nice and safe area.

Concrete building lacks some warmth.
Modern facility without any extra. Good location and friendly staff. Simple but delicious breakfast. Literally located at the backside of the train station.

The mattrass was too thin, not comfortable, the coffee machine in the breakfast room was left very dirty by other hostel guests
Check in and Check out was very easy - The room was very clean, excellent bathroom!!! Separate toilet is ++.

The price was really high for what was offered. The amenities were not as good as in other hostels with even lower prices. Also it was not as clean as expected.
The breakfast was nice and fulfilling. Also the place was really close to the station.

Great quite room, perfect location for us near the town centre and train station, secure storage for bikes, comfortable beds. Not just for youngsters, many older people like me were also staying!

The temperature in the room was constantly over 25 degrees. The shower was cold the first morning, and the 2nd day there was no warm water at all. Check out already at 10am.
The breakfast was fresh and good overall.
