We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

CanadaThere is a smell when you first enter the unit. We noticed it on and off over the week. It was never too strong or lingered too long that it became uncomfortable. They are doing construction nearby and that may be the cause. Yes the stairs to the 3rd floor are steep but just move slowly.
The host was excellent. He responded quickly to any questions and was helpful with suggestions. The location was fantastic. The pictures are exactly like the unit. Great water pressure on the shower. It's not the fanciest of places but for the price I was impressed.

United StatesInstructions for turning on the airconditioner would have been helpful and the shower floor is extremely slippery when wet. Nothing that the owners can do, but the stairs will be difficult for some guests due to the steepness of the top floor stairs.

AustraliaTo reach the top floor bedroom you need to climb an almost vertical flight of stairs. To climb up safely I had be on all four. It was impossible to carry my suitcase to the room so I could only bring the essentials separately. Also, for an apartment of this size I'd hope there's a washing machine as there are no laundromat nearby.
Great location, it's just across the river from the popular Vismarkt. Very modern facilities. Lots of space. It's a decently sized apartment.

New ZealandNot the hosts fault: not sure if I would book this place again with small children in tow; couple of small steps at the entrance (little fiddly with pram), very steep staircase to second floor (a tad adventurous for a 4 year old), staircase and top floor ceiling height a little low for very tall people (me: 5'11, husband 6'7).
Looks newly renovated / fresh, great communication by the host resulting in a relaxed arrival. Lovely little touches (bottle of bubbles on arrival, cot set up, Aircon turned on before arrival ensuring a cool arrival on a hot day). Could not have wished for more.

Georgiathere was a strong damp smell probably coming from the basement and we kept window open to survive the smell. The smell was very strong on the first floor, but it was also coming to the bedrooms especially the 3rd floor bedroom which has no doors (just stairs). When rains stopped the smell became milder, but still could not close the window. We wrote about to the host, but there was no answer. Actually, host did not respond to any of our question or request

So ignore any previous negative remarks in reviews. It's Flanders! Stairs are steep all over cos of the houses.

Very good location close to the centre. Very clean and well equipped. Everything seems to be new. Very quiet. There is even a little yard where you can sit outside - however without any plants or greenery ( probably yet to come). Mechelen is a good base to discover the area by bike or to visit Antwerp or Brussels ( by train).

United KingdomSadly, during our stay, the house had a terrible smell in it at various points during the day, making the property uninhabitable for the time of the smell. I messaged the owner on the first day as I was worried about a gas leak, but he did not answer. We had visitors at the house who assured us that it was not gas but sewage that we could smell. I reported again to the owner who did nothing but said that he would get back to us after we left. He did not. I contacted him after the stay, inviting him to refund some of the fees owing to the smell. He came back to me, denying that there was a smell and accusing me of blackmail. I am afraid, therefore, that I would caution anyone against staying at the property until the owner can assure people that he has rectified the problem with the drains and until he has improved his attitude to his clients.
This is a very nice house in a very nice position in a lovely town. It is well equipped, warm and very comfortable.
