Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyAs indicated in previous reviews, the staircase is steep and there are some uneven areas on the ground floor. Ground floor heating didn't warm up the area as much as we would have liked but it's an older apt and there is a door and huge windows. Wifi could have been stronger in some places and it took almost a full day to get heating in the overall apt to a decent level. As an FYI for those with children, there is no bathtub (just showers)
The apt has a lot of character and the pics are a good reflection what you get. Four total floors. Ground floor has a kitchen, dining table, and half bathroom (toilet/sink). 1st floor is the family room with a full bathroom. 2nd floor had a bedroom (queen bed and bunk-bed that can sleep 3), washer & dryer, and half bathroom (shower/sink). 3rd floor was a bedroom with access to a balcony. Beds are comfy and it feels like a real home. Didn't use the TV but washer/dryer worked well. Kitchen was well stocked and had more than just the basics. There were also motion-dectector lights in certain areas (stairwell and washrooms) that we generally liked but it was an issue in the bathroom when showering. There are a lot of books/comics and even a little desk my son used to write/color on. The area felt safe and is close to the shopping district. There is a nearby grocery store within 5 min walk away. Communication was quick and courteous. I appreciated the tips that were provided and were also allowed to check-in early.

Fantastic location being walking distance into the city. Lovely back street so noise level low. All the facilities you could want to find.

United StatesWhile it was great to have the washer and dryer, there were no instructions on how to use them. We managed to wash clothes, but the dryer didn't work. No privacy in master bedroom on 3rd floor b/c of window to stairwell, with no curtain. Shower in 3rd floor bathroom was fully visible from the balcony through the skylight of the shower. Standing in the stairwell, there is a clear view into the 4th floor bedroom through a grate in the floor. For the elderly, it might be a problem not having a toilet on the same floor as the bedroom.
It is a lovely house in a great location, close to the main market and many restaurants, but out of the crowded area. The well-equipped kitchen and the dining area are a pleasant, welcoming sight as one enters the house. Also on the 1st floor is a toilet and sink. But, there is an easily trippable area on the floor from the dining room to the kitchen. The highlight is the living room on the 2nd floor, a room to relax in - sofa and chairs very comfortable. The 2 bathrooms were very nice, one on the 2nd floor, with a shower, toilet and sink, and one on the 3rd with a shower and sink, no facility on the 4th floor. The balcony off the 2nd bedroom (4th floor) was very nice w a great view of the city. Hosts were exceptionally helpful in allowing us to leave the tax money in the house instead of paying with a money transfer before we left the U.S., which would have cost more than the tax itself.

United KingdomNarrow stairs weren’t a problem for our group, but bear in mind if travelling with people who have mobility issues.

United KingdomUpstairs top bedroom was very hot and we had one or two problems with mosquitoes. The nearest toilet was a fair way from the bedrooms.
Excellent location and an attractive property with plenty of character. Well-equipped and clean.

ColombiaWe liked everything!
The house is located right in the city center of Antwerp, we were able to reach every main attraction by walking and if you need to use the bus, tram or metro the stop is 5 min away. The house is located in a quiet street so there is no noise at all during the night. The house was very very pretty, nicely decorated, it was clean and had everything included. We were so happy that we found this house because it was perfect for our group of 7 friends. Also, we went in the winter, the heating worked perfectly and the bed duvets were also very warm so no issue at all. The communication with the owners was very quick and they resolved all our doubts quickly. I definitely recommend this accommodation it's unique, it's beautiful and cozy, in a great location with very nice owners. All this is important to take into account, especially when we realized that there seems to be a "monopoly" of airbnbs run by 1 single person with very bad rating so keep an eye out for that. You will definitely not regret selecting this house!

CanadaNo negatives.
We spent 4 nights here and we had spent a total of 6 nights at a different place in a previous week. We so wish we were here the whole time. Just a lovely, lovely apartment. In short form, here are the highlights….comfortable beds (which I was very much looking forward to) washer and dryer, beautiful dishware and glasses (such a nice touch), well stocked kitchen for home cooking, unlike other places…knives, cutting boards etc. The property has immense character, you cannot ask for a better location within Antwerp. Literally around the corner from free parking, grocery’s, the heart of historic Antwerp, Restaurants shopping and early AM Coffee and Patisserie. Very responsive hosts. A super place unless you would struggle with up and down narrow spiral staircases. For us it was charming, for others it could prove to be problematic I suppose. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

United KingdomSelected because we needed two bathrooms. But did not expect to have to go down two floors of narrow winding stairs to access them - especially toilets at night. Stairs were very narrow and difficult for elderly senior citizens. Plus the ground floor kitchen/dining area had several serious tripping hazards.
Location great. Facilities individually were good.
