Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Turkeythe sink was too small to fill your bottle, the water bottles they sell at the entrance runs out until the evening and they don’t refill it every day. When I asked what to do they told me to order a bottle of water from the restaurant but I can’t take it to my room… and every shop closes at 6 pm. You should fix this issue.
Check in was fast, staff was pretty nice and chill. the room was clean. The hotel is not close to the center but you can take the bus. It was okay for the price. Thank you for everything.

SwitzerlandBreakfast could have had more options, especially the yoghurt (lactose-free or soya) and more fruits other than apple and orange. A bowl mix of already cut fruits would have been great addition. And since it's Belgium, it would have been nice to have waffles
For a place to rest your head and have a quick breakfast for max 3-4 nights, I think this is perfect. The breakfast was good. They had a nice range of warm (eggs, bacon, baked beans) and cold options (cold cuts, tomatoes, cucumber, muesli, yogurt, milk), but the options are quite small and it's the same everyday, so that's why if you stay for a short time, it's ok but for longer, you might get bored. The reception area also has a bar and playroom area. Lots of people were mingling there in the evening and it had nice vibes. Staff are nice, helpful and excellent. Room is small, quiet and clean. No closet. Just hangers, attached to the wall. Bed was nice and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The AC could be adjusted (I read somewhere, it couldn't be turned off for some, but that wasn't the case for me). Location is great, just 5 mins from Dammport train station and about 20 mins walk to the center to see all the Cathedrals and sights (Gravensteen, etc). Again, if you stay for a short period and just need a place to rest your head, price-quality ratio is great. However, if you stay longer and want a range of options, may not be best for you.

BulgariaAll was good!
We stay for a night, but it is a nice place to stay for longer period! It takes around 30 minutes to reach the old city by walking, but you can enjoy the walking through the city! There is a big underground parking for the guests of the hotel! Room is not so big, but for travelers is enough for two persons. Very clean hotel and room!

United StatesThe location was a bit far from public transportation. It's right near a train station, but there's so much construction, I couldn't take a train from there and had to take a bus. Walking around that area is kind of unclear and difficult. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful. But one woman behind the bar seemed impatient and a bit rude.
Comfy bed, basic, quiet, clean room. Nice to have the bar, restaurant and some games available on the first floor. Tasty breakfast.

Romaniathe only problem was that the windows did not open, only one tiny window could be just cracked, but you could not put your hand outside. This meant that it was nearly impossible to air out the room and it got quite uncomfortable because of that.
The room was very tiny but for a short stay it was enough; the beds are really comfortable;

TurkeyIt is a bit far from the city center. I mean too much walk in total, back and forth.
It is close to the train station and 20-25 min walk to the city center. Our room was clean and enough big for three people. Staff was welcoming.

United KingdomSlightly odd layout of the hotel, one needs to go outside (via covered walkway) to get to the certain rooms from the main reception area. We visited in the summer, so this was not an issue, I do not know if it gets enclosed in the winter.
Perfect location for us, very close to the train station and in walking distance from town centre. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, children loved the Table Tennis and games in the reception area. Room was small but very clean and beds were comfortable. They also do lovely cocktails in the bar, we have not tried the food. I would happily stay there again.

New ZealandNothing. But watch out for the room doors- they don’t always click shut of their own accord. So be sure to pull fully shut as you leave your room!
It might seem it’s in the middle of nowhere, but it’s on the edge of the interesting parts of Ghent via a short walk. Modern facilities, slimmed down to essentials in the room as expected. Good sitting area on ground floor. Great to see people playing table tennis close to the lifts!

United KingdomCar parking was 18Euro for 1 night which is taking advantage of customers. The car park is underground but not secure as anyone could walk down into it or walk into the hotel and get a lift down to it. Bar prices were not cheap either when a short walk into the city gives far better options. All purchases are only by card as it is a cashless environment.
The Hotel had everything needed for an overnight or short stay. There was a bar, food for those who wanted it and breakfast. The walk into the centre was about 15/20 minutes away and easy to find. Rooms were basic but you do not need luxuries for an overnight stay. Breakfast options were good ie; continental or English with fruit, cerials and pastries.

NetherlandsThe building itself is efficient and pleasant with a nice industrial design touch (I liked the half open corridor between reception and rooms). It is close to the railway station and the city center. However, it is somewhat lost in a decayed industrial area
Rooms are sufficient, bathroom good, and above all clean! (which, to me, is essential) Staff pleasant, friendly, the bar is good and the coffee excellent.

United KingdomBreakfast was all you can eat for 15 euro but limited choice for a vegan and no cheaper option. There is a discounted price for kids at breakfast which is good.
Great location close to town (quick cycle or walking distance) Outside the low emission zone, and we could park our campervan on the road at parking meter or vehicles under 2.1m high could park in the multi story carpark at the hotel. Friendly staff and onsite gym, bar and table tennis table were a bonus.
