Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomParking can be tight. Corridors can be noisy at night with returning guests. Quite expensive.
Have stayed here before. Nice old character building with modern bedrooms and typical Belgian brasserie, serving good food.

United KingdomThe room we were allocated was set in the eaves, not only was it a palaver to get to, it was awkward to get to one side of the bed because of the low eaves. Two new mattresses, leaning against the wall in the hallway, kind of spoiled the atmosphere. The en-suite was clean but very basic, and the towels were considerably smaller than the average bath towel.
The first thing that hits you when you walk towards the entrance is the wonderful-perfumed smell which is emitted throughout the hotel electronically. We appreciated the sustainability efforts made, such as rain water used to flush the loos. The brasserie attached to the hotel was mainly used by locals, which is a good sign, and the food was fresh and well-prepared. I liked the choice of local beers and champagne by the glass.

NetherlandsThe Parking was a bit of a pain. the walk from the rear carpark to the back of the hotel was okay but not clear especially when I arrived in the dark. It could benefit from better lighting and some signs.
Very good service. Clean and modern facilities and rooms in a historic building. Very friendly and helpful staff. The integrated restaurant is very good with good offerings and great quality.

The hotel is a listed building skilfully converted into a modern hotel. It stands beside the city park and must be very pretty in summer. We had a delicious dinner in the cosy bar-restaurant and a good breakfast. The room (3) was enormous and rather stark but comfortable. Bathroom excellent.

Excellent service by all staff. Superb food in beautiful surroundings. Terrace seating was amazing. Restaurant prices were expensive but the quality of the food was worth the money. The room was a little on the small size but perfectly manageable for one night. No room for suitcase but we managed.

United KingdomWe only stayed one night.
Everything was perfect. We were welcomed by one of the staff at the car park. The gentleman told us where to park. Our dog was allowed in the restaurant, even at breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great customer service and delicious food. Our room was very spacious. There was a lovely little park right behind the hotel, it was perfect for a short evening walk with our dog. Tienen is a very pretty and quiet town. There is a bakery a few minutes away from the hotel and also a market square.

SwedenNothing. All was perfect.
This hotel was really perfect all from arrival to chek-out. Very easy check in without a lot of details to fill in. Large nice room with modern feeling. The restaurant had very good quality , for ex the fish we had was absolutely right temperature and taste. A lot of locals also met up here wich made id lively but not noisy. Also nice that the manager walked around and talked to everybody. Gave a warm and personal feeling. And if you travel a lot that is so appreciated. All together we found a new favorit whem we visit Belgium in the future.

United KingdomNo complaints at all. Tienen is not the most interesting city, but Leuven is close by (only 15 minutes from the nearby train station).
All that a hotel should be - personal service, lovely historic building, nice room overlooking park, comfortable bed and pillows, fitness room and spa, excellent breakfast, good food in restaurant......I could go on.

GermanyFor 20€ the breakfast was overpriced. It was just the very basics and although it was neat, always re-filled by the nice staff, it was more worth 10€ rather than 20€.
Very nice, charming and sophisticated Hotel at the heart of Tienen. We had the the superior room and it was extremely spacious and the same time very comfy. We really enjoyed the “smart home” vibes of the room which included multiple light functions and music to be played from the walls - very cool! It was extremely tidy and clean. Parking was available even when it seemed as if there weren’t any parking spaces left - there’s parking garage available too which is great as it is right at the center of Tienen.

NetherlandsStuff was very accommodating, very nice, friendly and polite. Made me feel like i was regular over there, even though it was my first visit. They have very goor restaurant on the property. Good food and not that expensive either. What really surprised me (positively) how welcoming their restaurant was to dog owners. They even have special bowls for your 4 legged friends to give them water (on the house) and food.
