Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had a fantastic stay. The rooms were cosy, clean and the beds comfortable - perfect to end the day after a long hike. The host was super nice and kind, also gave us tips on where to hike and where not (as it was hunting season and some hikes were also very slippery). We loved the breakfast with the other guests, there were many options and their homemade yoghurt was delicious! Very convenient location to many nice hikes and towns in the area. Highly recommend and would definitely come here again next time I'm in the area.

We used as a stop off on the way back from Germany so was not perhaps as convenient from a motorway perspective. However the house and owner were lovely.

BelgiumSometimes I heard the voices from the neighbouring room.
It’s a very cosy, rustic, old house nicely renovated. The owner was kind and made the stay personal. The bed was comfortable, shower was modern. Breakfast also came with a personal touch, besides ham and cheese, there was home made yoghurt and jams. Many hiking routes nearby. Dining opportunities in the village , including a 24/7 pizza machine.

GermanyAs the Place is in a very small town, there are not so many opportunities to get something for dinner. We found a small takeaway restaurant with fastfood. Probably easier if you come by car.
The Host where super friendly, the room was in a small, beautiful renovated house. Very nice and cosy. We stayed for one night on a hiking tour, would definitely come here again.

BelgiumHonestly, I don't know. Maybe I was in such a good mood that everything looked great ;-)
Very friendly bilingual (NL/FR) host. Accommodating, yet not intrusive. He really did an wonderful job making us feel at home. Rooms are warm (we came during two crisp days of fall) an clean. Usually, the shower is the weakest spot. Our shower was immaculate. Breakfast is plentiful: fruits, breads, brioches, fried eggs (on demand), yogurt, and a large assortment of spreads, jelly and marmalades, most of them home-made. Freshly made fruit juice. Plus the usual coffee and tea, of course. Our host asked when we wanted our breakfast, which is a sweet attention. We were the only guests that night, therefore he could offer flexibility for that. He didn't have to, but he did. The house itself is a quaint little farm, ideally located near hiking routes. We didn't need our car to get to them. Which is exactly what we were looking for. There is a great trail that takes you around the Nisramont Lake. The owner bought this property about a year ago, or so. And the reviews that date back prior to that are less than glowing (euphemism). Booking.com has cleaned the slate, but Tripadvisor has not. Seems unfair that the new owner has to carry over the poor legacy of the previous one. One of the other guests told us about the Eislek, a 106 km long trail between Kautenbach in Luxemburg and La Roche en Ardenne. We thought, why not? If we do, we will definitely be returning here. Final note: quite a few dining options in the area. Special mention to the 'Charme de Wibrin'. A few minutes drive from the property. We tried it. We loved it. Better reserve though, and mind the opening hours. Many of these restaurants close early in this region. I know, this should be a review for the property, not the restaurant. But I thought I suggest La Fermette Blanche + this restaurant as a great combo.

BelgiumA perfect stop-over on the Eislek trail. It had everything we could have wished for, including a fridge stocked with drinks, and homemade jam. Our host was helpful in recommending nearby places to eat.

BelgiumIt’s a cosy old farmstead, so walls can be a little thin. But there are only 4 rooms so it never gets too busy/loud.
Very nice people, excellent breakfast and everything you need from a room.

IrelandEverything was good.
Had a wonderful stay at the B&B. The owners were very warm and welcoming. The room was very cozy. A wonderful place to rest after a day's hiking Escapardenne trail. The owner helped to book a restaurant for dinner and also with food for the next day's hike (no shop in the village). All in all had a great stay and would highly recommend.

GermanyMaybe a small TV/Radion for some entertainment in the rooms in the future, especially in the wintertime. Otherwise the B&B is PERFECT!
Very friendly (new) owners, tiny little house, but with all the comfort you need. A clean, perfectly restored room, very good working heating system, hot water in the shower plus a very tasty breakfast. What else would you need after a long day outdoor in december? Nothing! Always again and very recommended
