Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceHotel is very shabby, really old and needs refurbishment. It is located in a very noisy street crossing with the tram and street works. Windows were definitely not double layers! Walls between rooms are so thin I could hear my neighbor roar in his sleep. The bed mattress was terrible, very hard, almost impossible to sleep in! I stayed for 2 days, my room was not made up in my absence! I even suspect that when I first took the room, bed linen was not changed from prior traveler. As it had a heavy smell of men's perfume, really unpleasant! Room decoration was unpleasant - there was a massive script in Arabic all across the wall. I don't read Arabic, so I don't know what it says, but sleeping under such writing is not pleasant. A similar Arabic decoration was placed on the bar in the restaurant. Not sure what type of Muslims this hotel is run by, hopefully moderate .... Breakfast is not served until 8am! This is nonsense! I finally was able to convince the guardian to have it served at 7.45. Restaurant does not serve meals in the evening. This is inconvenient, as the closest place you can eat in, is some 15 minutes away...
Hotel location is very good, walking distance to Brussels Expo, which was my objective.

BelgiumI didn't have any towels in my room. I didn't have time to ask if it was a mistake or if it wasn't supposed to be there. Anyway most probably they would give me one if I had asked
The lady in the reception was so kind that they offered me a free coffee when I didn't have time for breakfast. They were so helpful that they helped me to find a parking spot.

NetherlandsI did a reservation for this hotel 5 months before the stay. The only room available was a triple room which was way more expensive than a normal room (for 1 person), but it was the only one. I payed the bill upfront to make sure it couldn't be double booked or whatever. On the check in at the hotel the room looked fine. I went out of the hotel for business and when i came back they moved my stuff to an other room (single room) without asking me If I agreed. The reason they did it was they double booked the room and needed it for someone else (the one I reserved and payed upfront) I did not make a huge point of it because I only came there for a sleep and did not needed the extra beds. I made clear this is fine bud there should be a recalculation of the cost for the stay. At the check out I asked about the recalculation and the simple answer from them was “I am sorry but there is nothing we can do with the price, maybe if you come in the future for an other stay we can see if we can get you a discount”. If this is how you treat your guests, rooms reserved 5 months upfront fully paid and than move the guest to an smaller room without asking if the agree and than even no compensation at all.

United Kingdomfor over €100 I would have expected far better, it should be €20 at best as hotel is in very poor condition, incense overpowers the hotel and no improvements in rooms for many many years. I feel that that they are taking advantage of people who use the stadium venue which is fine to a degree but to pay that amount for run down room is taking advantage.

RomaniaAt least a glass and a basket are needed in the room. For me, TV is not an advantage or a disadvantage without it.
The accommodation was good for my points of interest (MiniEuropa and Atomium), the room was spacious, the disadvantage of the area is the noise from the street, being a roundabout nearby is a favorite area for drifts and meetings, many noisy cars. Although it's not the hotel's fault, it's one thing to keep in mind.The net worked smoothly;
