Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWe stayed there for one night. The shower was plugged - we had to wait for the water to drain before running more clean water. Fortunately it worked because the receptionist has left for the night by then. The receptionist did not inquire at all how we managed when we mentioned it to her in the morning. Hopefully she sent someone to fix the problem.
We were very impressed that they gave us a free upgrade from a double room to a family room when we informed them that a third family member joined us on our trip. Our room and the common area were very clean and nicely decorated. We had a visitor who came see us in the evening and we could visit with them in the nice and open living area. The breakfast included a reasonable variety of carb and protein. And the hotel was at a walking distance from the main centre and Grand Place. The location was nice and quiet.

RomaniaI recently had the pleasure of staying at Maison Arya for two nights, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Situated conveniently close to the city center, this hotel offers easy access to all the major attractions Brussels has to offer. Friendly and helpful staff, the room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat after a full working day.

FranceThe wall to the neighbouring room was thin enough to hear their phone buzz. No desk in my room. No cupboard with drawers. No safe in the room.
Modern design and furniture. 3-minute walk to the metro station. Quiet and safe area. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Nespresso machine in room. Large windows that can open. Good Wifi.

United StatesPre arrival communication was poor. I was asked for arrival time, and said 8-9 pm. The answer was " no problem, there is a 24 hr desk". A late plane and taxies that declined to take us from the central train station made us walk 25 minutes with bags, arriving at 9:30. No one mentioned that there's a direct metro link. The doors were locked and no staff after 8 pm. No one answered the door button that makes a phone call. We had to download What's App, and call a number. Someone answered and seemed surprised to be called at that hour, but realized it was a customer, and said he'd forgotten the door was locked when leaving our keys on the desk. He buzzed us in. It wasn't a happy arrival after 20 hours of travel. Next day, no room service because we slept until 11:30...I suggest informing clients of the hotel hours, what to do if you arrive after, and that there is a direct metro link to the nearby St Catherine's stop.
Room was quiet, and in good condition. Staff was friendly, and helpful when asked.

GreeceBrussels accommodation is getting very costly over the last year. This does not apply on to this property of course.
Very beautiful hotel in a great location. Everyone was very kind and willing to help. They have even arranged breakfast earlier for me because I had to leave too early in the morning!

FranceNothing springs to mind that could have made it better.
This hotel was in an excellent location and was perfect for our one night stay. In fact I have booked it again for a two night stay later in the year. The breakfast was plentiful and it is handy to have access to lounge type area to chill out in, in between visits out.

CyprusThe only thing which was negative to our stay was that the bathroom floor needed a mopping upon our arrival. I would recon that this was a one-off experience, since the cleaning service was impeccable throughout our stay.
I would definitely recommend the specific accommodation, especially for work visits since it combines all necessary services for a smooth stay. The staff was always friendly willing to assist with any matter, breakfast was served not only on time but earlier than the stated timeframe (which was very convenient when we had to leave the accommodation due to an early meeting), cleaning staff cleaned on a daily manner our room, the room was quite for us to rest at nights (and our room faced the main street), and we were located at a 2-minute walk from the metro station of St Kathrine. Breakfast was very nice offering many options for all likings and the coffee was very good (which is a rare occasion at hotels). Also, the area where the breakfast is served is a very nice place for one to work remotely if needed since the WIFI is excellent and it offers all sorts of comfortable sitting arrangements. An additional bonus, was the music playing which was great.

The location was really good, close to restaurants and a short walk to the shops. The rooms are on the smallish side but they are comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast was simple yet tasty.

United StatesThe room was basically the bed size. It was the most expensive hotel room in this size. I don't think I could stay in that room if my husband was traveling with me! There was a constant buzzing alarm sound and it was distancing.
The location was great, it is only 4 minutes away from the Metro station. It is safe area for a single traveler. There are lots of restaurants and grocery stores near by.

United KingdomThe breakfast only starting at 8am isn't ideal when you're there for work, and the rooms don't have the full kit you'd get elsewhere, like an iron.
There are some lovely restaurants nearby and it's quiet, away from the tourist areas - but not too far. The room was nice and the breakfast good, too.

United StatesBut man, the staff were a bit of a letdown. We rang for help with our luggage, and the dude just opened the door and went back to his spot without lifting a finger. Didn't even bother to assist with the elevator, which was a bit tricky. Plus, zero smiles – talk about a cold welcome
We totally missed out on breakfast since we had to catch an early flight, but we already paid for it, so no clue how it was. Anyway, the hotel's cute and trendy, and the location's pretty sweet for wandering around.
