How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing bad. I think they could be more careful about waste in relation to the amount put out for breakfast.
Good location- right in the centre of the town with easy access to the lake. Food was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

it cannot be helped but there were a few silverfish in my room, I did not complain as it is difficult to catch these.

Having to leave a deposit! This is not mentioned on the info of booking agent. Confusion with payment - advised we had not paid but showed confirmation that we had

It’s very difficult for taxi drivers to find if they don’t know the area. Cleaner was rather rude when I asked her to come back because I had just walked out of the shower. I said can you come back in 30 minutes and she just said clean- yes or no! I don’t like being charged extra for the gym having paid for the room. Maybe it’s a Belgian thing but I haven’t had this anywhere else in the world
Breakfast was good. Reception staff were excellent and super helpful.

Nothing...!
We returned really late (2.30 am) and we were unable to be on time for the breakfast (before 10:30). The lady at the reception and the Kitchen chef have gone the extra mile to offer us a smal breakfast (coffee+ croissants, pain au chocolat+ orange juice) for a replacement of the full breakfast paid in advance. This is the sort of service we were pleased to receive and which we were not expecting! Well done to the staff!

There are only a couple parking spaces. It was already full when we arrived

Everything is still very new, very quiet and cleaned, really cosy room with everything you need. Very comfortable bed, and central position close to the station and university.

Neither wellness 35eur, nor the breakfast 18eur is included in the price. This latest was unexpected. Overall we ended up with a rather 4 star hotel price. Wellness section welcomes about 10 persons during one time slot and thus could only be accessed by reservation well in advance, that again was not quite explicitly stated. So we did miss it and could not go just the next day, when you have a brief stay, you better reserve right after you book for the room. Overall the reception was not really on the top to explain all these unique rules and customs. Similarly that our dinner table booking was made for a set menu, which was not told to us. It took a while to understand what is the situation and at the end the waiter agreed to take our order a la carte. The hotel had one type of pillows that were really thick, that was highly uncomfortable for me as I like to sleep on the side.
Really tastefully decorated hotel and room. Breakfast is amazing, great variety of food, drinks and includes local taste, also the restaurant offered delicious meals . There is a wellness section nicely done although limited so the hotel regulates the entrance so it does not get crowded. Very good location close to lake, recreational area, and as well to the city center, across the cinema. Great variety of choice to dine out or have a drink. Good 3 star plus hotel.
