How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Stairs and view was mainly of roofs.
Great location. Wonderful staff. Very charming , homey atmosphere. Quiet despite next to Catedral.

Perhaps a lift but the stairs to the 2 nd floor were manageable
Thé breakfast was lovely, the owner Peggy and her husband made us welcome and helped us with choices of where to go and where to eat. The hotel was full of lovely paintings and old furniture, beautiful. Not the usual type found in hotels, they took a pride in their home/hotel.

The mattress was just okay.
The location is superb, next to the Cathedral. Choose a room in back to be even further away from the noise; we did and did not hear any street noise, slept soundly in a lovely, spacious room. The decor throughout the hotel is charming. Hosts Peggy and Wim are delightful, so helpful and friendly to chat with.

There was quite a bit of street noise at night, but this was not something within the control of the hotel.
The location was great - just behind the cathedral, so very central. The decor was artistic, quirky and interesting, and the communal areas were very comfortable. The owners were really helpful and friendly.

This hotel is absolutely something special - the interior of the main areas is amazing as are the owners of this hotel. They are really service minded and make sure that your stay is perfect. Fantastic location just next to the cathedral. Nice breakfast (extra charge). If I would ever come back to Antwerp I would definitely stay here again.

We just loved this quirky hotel. Stunning unique design, beautiful rooms, great breakfast & an extremely warm welcome by the hosts. It's next to the cathedral & near shops, bars & restaurants.

Peggy and Wim welcomed us warmly and we're extremely hospitable. They were lovely to engage with. The location could not have been better in the old part of the city. Our room was very quiet.

Everything was great!
Great location. Peggy and Wim were wonderful and helpful hosts. From travel plans to sightseeing to romantic restaurants -they helped us find it all. We would definitely go back.

The breakfast was outstanding. The owners (Peggy and Wim) prepared everything freshly especially for us, adapted to our likings. Also, they offered us very delicious jam with ingredients from their own garden. Also, the owners personally took care of us and managed to create a family-like feeling for us. Also, the advices for things to see in the city were really good and helpful. The interior design and furniture of the hotel is very vintage and creates a very special cozy atmosphere for the guests. Warm colours and lighting - we were feeling very well!

The noise. We were there on a hot night. we could get a great breeze going by opening both the bathroom and bedroom windows. Unfortunately that brought in the street bar noise which continued very late into the night. So… if you are ready to stay out and party late the room is perfect. If the host added an air cleaner to move the air it would be a perfect place to stay.
The location was wonderful, only a few steps from food, drinks and entertainment. The room was clean and very authentically European. Room 3 is very private as it looks directly onto the Cathedral

The bar right outside the room would cause a bit of noise until late at night, and I had to sleep with the windows open due to high temperatures and lack of A/C. I didn't mind it as I am a heavy sleeper, but it might be a good idea to warn other/future guests in case they have to stay in the same room with the same circumstances.

No fan ; no water on the fridge (supplied for the second night), no garde robe
