Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe biggest advantage, it's central position, means that at night it can get noisy outside with partygoers. However, the windows close very well and keep the room very calm.
Situated in downtown, we have easy access to all major touristic attractions. The hotel is beautiful in itself and super clean. Moreover the staff is very kind and helpful.

BrazilThis newly opened hotel is with its perfect location one of the best hotels I have been to in Europe. The cosy and adorable interior makes you feel at home. The sweet and very nice couple who host are incredible wonderful, smiling and very helpful. We had a very lovely breakfast with freshly bread directly from the bakery, nice fruit and lovely coffee. This place in down town Antwerp, is definitely worth to try and I will for sure come back. Although it’s a 3 star hotel, I will send the host couple 5 stars 🥰

United KingdomVery noisy even when we paid for a room at the back. I can imagine in the summer it would be unbearably hot. Very basic. We found it bizarre there were single lkea duvets on our beds with no covers and mine was dirty. We were given our room early because we paid for an upgrade to a quieter room but then found it was still being cleaned.
The location was great but it wasn’t really a hotel, no staff on site for most of our stay (altho we could contact them at any time) and the reception area was locked. Peggy the owner was very friendly.

NetherlandsThe building is quite old, stair case is very narrow and hard to go to third floor comfortably with suitcases. The room was also not very good, the mattress was very bad quality (you can feel and hear the springs inside), the window wasn’t sound proof and you could hear noise from street and it was hard to sleep, the curtain wasn’t blackout or even 70% blackout so also in summer when sunrise is early, it may wake you up early. Toilet was similarly very outdated but the worst part was that it’s wasn’t properly clean (some other people hairs were in the shower when we checked in) :(
The location was very good and central. The staff was very friendly during our short interactions with her, also offered late checkin

The staff was very pleasant. The breakfast (at additional cost of 17 Euros per person) had a nice assortment of choices.

BelgiumWe were given a room at the first floor with a nice view on the cathedral. That was so beautiful. But the alley is very crowded at night and hosts a lot of bars, with a very very noisy one right next door under the room's windows. The music and the drunken clients kept us awake until 4:30 AM. The rest of the service was great. So make sure you ask for a room in the back of the building (not sure they will be less noisy). The bathroom could use a refresh. It was clean, but not very tasteful, compared to the rest of the hotel.
A charming hotel with an original vintage twist. Very well situated in an alleyway behing the cathedral and nearby a car-parking. Friendly hoteliers and a good breakfast.

United StatesThe room was on the first floor right above a bar that made a lot of noise until quite late at night. Although I've been on some small stairways these were the steepest and most narrow steps I've been on. The owner was nice enough to bring our bags up and down for us. The room was clean and in a good location but there was nothing that made it feel warm and comfortable. I don't know if the noise from the bar is everynight, but it continued until quite late.
We did not have the breakfast because the charge was much more than we had been used to paying at some places that had much nicer dining areas and had super food.

NetherlandsA bit unusual was the fact that the bathroom didn't have a handle on the door - although the door was moving in and out (both ways) it was heavy and not very easy to use. Would be difficult for the elderly, people with special needs and children. The room was not very clean for my standards as well. We found some hair occasionally. The other thing is that a second coffee is charged extra money apart from the breakfast price. I thought this was a bit of a rip off initially, but in the end the owners decided to treat us the second glass of coffee for free. However that was just an exception, because we didn't have cash and we wanted to pay for the extra cups of coffee by card. In my standards a second cup of coffee should not be a big deal in a hotel that offers breakfast and certainly I wouldn't price it for 2.5 euros. A bit too pricy for what it offers overall.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Room was nice and had enough space for our things (group of 3 girls). The beds comfy the breakfast nice and hand-made by the couple who own the place. They were both very polite.
