Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe room didn't feel very cosy, a bit lacking in atmosphere. Small room with a very high ceiling, felt a bit like an elevator shaft.
Very good mattress, not too firm, not too soft. Helpful staff. Decent breakfast, nothing spectacular. Good hotel if you're only there to sleep and have a shower.

NetherlandsThe room looked over a courtyard, but it was very messy up there with lots of construction stuff. Also, we had to walk through storage rooms to get to our room.
Beautiful location in an old Monastery, close to all sightseeings. Beds were very comfy, room was clean and the bathroom was nice. Lovely staff at the reception.

United KingdomNothing I didn't like
The rooms were excellent, bathrooms ensuite. This is not a luxury hotel, but is it very acceptable accommodation in a brilliant location, the facilities are great, staff really lovely, there's a bar, lots of space. We didn't take breakfast but it looked fine. You don't need to pay mire, it was really well located.

United StatesMonastery history not very recognizable in room. Retained 1 original wood beam, but other than that nothing else. Nice room, just expected more evidence of the monastery, such as more art on the walls.
Breakfast great with eggs, bacon, deli meats cereals, juices, vegetables, breads, fruits. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stored luggage while we walked the old town. Close to main attractions and food. Old monastery renovated to hotel was unique.

United KingdomI had a single bed room which was big and comfortable but I had one small square pillow so a full size pillow would have been better. It's not clear when you first arrive where the reception is as you have to go through the car park - that's not a negative but just useful information. Also I asked the hotel to book me a taxi for the morning as I left early - I had to search for a member of staff to let me out because the door was locked (eventually one of the kitchen staff very kindly did) and the taxi was booked for the wrong place - I'd recommend booking your own taxi to be sure. Apart from that it was a lovely stay and value for money.
The location was perfect it was about a 5 minute walk from the main square. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable and the fact that it was in an old monastery was embraced in the decor but the rooms where still modern and light.

Location excellent!, beautyfull place in walking distance from old town. Loft room spacy and perfect for family's. Breakfast was overwheling, a large choice of high quality products. We, a family with 4, had an excellent stay. Ps. Check closly artwork at reception 😉

United KingdomStaff. We had to wait for a while to check-in because nobody was at the reception. It was difficult to find the room inside the building. Very poor acoustic isolation between the floors - you can hear every step made upstairs.

NetherlandsThe triple superior looked a bit dark and old, the bathtub was slippery for elderly. The parking could be more organized- they should have given us the exit code when paying (we didn't know we needed one) and reserving a spot is not possible. Difficult to manage if you are with elderly.

Czech RepublicSince it's an old building the floorboards can be quite creaky which was unfortunately causing some noise early in the morning when the guests above us were walking around their room.
Unusual kind of building - old monastery, it has unique atmosphere, spacious rooms, wifi seemed stable and reliable, staff was pleasant, location is good and within walking distance to the old town.

GermanyThey replaced the towels every day even though we hung them up. The coffee machine in the room never worked, even when we told them (yes, the light is on, but none of the buttons produce a coffee). We could go to the breakfast room to get coffee, but would have preferred it in our room.
The location was easy to get to by train, then tram and a short walk to the hotel. The beds were comfortable and we had a room in the courtyard as requested. They also allowed us to store our bag after check out so we could explore the city a bit more.
