How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a malfunctioning TV decoder. While TV isn't typically a priority for us during business trips, we encountered an unexpected need to use it this time. Despite alerting the host to the issue and their efforts to assist, the problem remained unresolved throughout our stay. Another downside was the softness of the beds, which could have been more supportive for a restful sleep.
This is a beautifully decorated and cozy apartment in Brussels. It is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a luxurious stay. Situated in a quiet, safe area with easy access to the city centre, it provided the perfect retreat. The host was incredibly friendly, attentive, and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The shower wasn't particularly powerful. The key to the front door was a little tricky to use.

The directions to get into the property and to get our car in were great. Sam told me to call him when we got there and he would walk me through everything, and he did. The apartment was warm when we got in, and had everything we needed for our stay.

Slightly noisy in the morning with the building going on across the road but that is not the fault of the owner. The area does seem a little sketchy after dark but we felt OK.
Fantastic apartment, spacious and very clean. The beds were comfy and cosy. The bathrooms were clean the the shower was great. Kitchen had everything we needed and 2 coffee machines. Sam was a fantastic host, great communication and checking in to see that all was well. Location is great, outside the hustle and bustle of the main centre but still very reachable. Great food options available in the Food Court in the Gare Maritime.

Maybe I was expecting a TV with Netflix but it's just a detail. I had some complications with the shower faucet that was not firm, other than that nothing to add. Very nice stay! Recommended
Spacious and modern apartment with elevator and parking, equipped kitchen, and good decoration. It also has central heating which is great.

Sam was a great host and very patient when we had to make last-minute changes to the booking. The apartment was just a two-minute walk from our venue and a 20-minute walk from the northern train station. A supermarket with a good selection of fresh food and coffee is nearby.

Didnt really affect us too much but the apartment was quite hot (heatwave!) and there is a massive building project right next door so we didnt really like to keep the windows open...but there were fans and this helped a lot!
Walkable to city, secure parking, super friendly host happy to recommend a restaurant and checked up to see if we were happy and had everything we needed. Apartment was well equipped and comfy! Has a great nights sleep on the massive bed!

There was a construction site next door which was really loud, even at night, which made it hard to sleep. But this isn't the fault of the accommodation and it won't last forever.
Great space, great facilities. Owner is very friendly and provided us with everything we needed.

Only had towels for 2 people, but we made it work.
Apartment had everything we needed. Nice big space for our family of 4. Comfortable beds. Everything was clean. Loved that it had parking. Easy check in & out. Host was easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions. Easy quick drive to the center of Brussels.

Nothing really to complain about.
as expected. Apartment equipped with everything we needed. Clean and comfy. Area is ok, 20 minute walk to Grand Place, parking on the street usually quite easy to find. Great and attentive host! We had some extra queries regarding check in and leaving our bags and it was attended to. Great value for money.

There were a couple of things requiring repair or replacement, but nothing major, and these were communicated with Sam who assured us these were to be done very soon. He was very easy to contact and responded promptly.
The apartment was spacious, generally comfortable and well equipped. Parking was good and the walk into Brussels centre was not too long. There were a few supermarkets, bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Lightning in the bathroom not sufficient. Very low pressure water. No teapot.
Apartment was very spacious. Huge television. Very comfortable beds. A basic set for spices, tea and coffee available. All questions we had where quickly answered by the owner.
