How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I didn't like the combination bath and shower. The room was also dark.
I liked the size of the room and bed. The staff was very friendly, and the location was ok. The neighbourhood was quiet. Room was equiped with kettle, tea, coffee machine and fridge.

were it neighbours or cleaning ladies (specially on Sunday morning) slamming the doors permanently in a way to wake the dead....? I didn't expect such a childish ruthlessness. prices for drinks in the self-service seemed to be a bit high; astonishingly not all receptionists speak French (in Brussels) AND English 🤔 - bizarre.... I did not get more specific information about the modalities of the car free Sunday - I expected local staff could help but was not the case.
very good location for my appointments; good parking situation for people with restricted mobility; availability of drinks and snacks 24/7; I liked very much that I could open the window instead of using the airco; mini-fridge (for drinks, chocolate and medication(!) ) & tea/coffee facilities were very welcome.

The room was dark, no lamp on ceiling, only weak lights near the bed. The carpet was not very clean.
Great location, less than 5 min until metro by foot. Comfortable beds, very rich and delicious breakfast. Good coffee from coffee machine in the room. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is possible to store your baggage after the check out free of charge, very useful.

The whole bathroom gets wet when you shower and the drain was clogged.
The beds are comfortable and the room is overall clean.

Air conditioning in rooms did not work at all despite being on. Room temperature was really hot and could not sleep all night due to temperature not being good in room.
It was good location, clean and staff were really helpful.

I was said that I will be charged at the hotel, but instead they charged me before, they cashed in the reservation. I had some truoble because of that and aditional steps were there to take and I payed twice. I hope i will get my refund for the ammount that was charged via cashing in the reservation. Why are doing different that it is said when reserving online trough booking.com. I don’t like that.

Couldn’t open window to let some fresh air in, don’t like air conditioning, also they could have some bath mats as tub quite slippery and I felt quite vulnerable, asked reception if they had any but the answer was no.
It was good. Staff very friendly, helpful. Easy access, clean and everything needed for a short stay.

Fittings in room in poor state. Shower holder loose, not fixed to tiles; sink plug does not close properly; and sink tap very tight to turn on

There was noisy terrace restaurant / bar close by. The noise was annoying even in the 4th floor.

There was a strange smell in the room, probably from carpet floor. Feels like hotel rooms need renovation. Had to open windows all the time. Also, on the last day of my stay I found dead cockroach on the table:(
Spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and room amenities (coffee, tee, water). Also, cleaning was really good. Location is good too - it’s quite and not crowded, there are a lot of parks in walking distance, metro is nearby too.
