Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PolandThere is a list of things we didn't consider ok and based on which this location is not on our top recommendations: - the pictures presented on Booking do not reflect the reality of the apartment: the floor is scratched, the curtains are torn, the wallpaper peels off, there are traces of mold and rust in the bathroom and the TV was not working (we contacted the administrator in respect to the TV, but we went to Brugges so we gave up on fixing it); - there is an alarm making a beep noise every other minutes, which didn't allow us to properly sleep during the night; - check-in starting at 16:00 so the cleaning firm has time to clean the apartment. Even so, there was dust in the bathroom and the floor was dirty. - we really thought the location was a great price-quality deal (almost 500 euro, 4 persons, 3 nights) but, again, the pictures are misleading. - the beds are staying on some plastic support which is full of dirt, as you may see in one of the pictures. To be honest, we have been mostly walking around the city and the country so we only took a shower and slept there. Otherwise, for sure we would have changed the accommodation.
The location is great, there is really good access to metro station and restaurants area. If you are interested in high-end shopping, you may visit Dior or Hermes which are right across the corner.

Some of the walls in one of the rooms and the bathroom door were broken when we arrived, but this was not notified to us. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, the rest of the beds were good.

We chose the apartment because it had three separate beds, but turns out you need to ask if you want bedding for the third bed (the pullout sofa), and that it costs 25 euros extra. We got to the apartment quite late after a conference and it was too late to get the bedding. I see now that it says this in the fine print, but it would have been nice to have it stated more explicitly. Otherwise, fine place and great location.

AustriaCleanliness: there were lot of dust under the beds, the windows were very dirty. In the courtyard (entrance of the flat) there were trash, broken glass AND a dry Christmas tree. :o Kitchen was big but there were only a few stuff: for instance there is an owen but no baking tray… no wine glasses, only a few glasses, plates, etc. As I mentioned, the space was big and plenty of space to run around - also because some more furniture won’t hurt: there was only a small sofa in the living area, so the 4 of us won’t fit. (No armchair or so). In the entrance area there were no hanger for coats… Check-in / check-out: we wanted early check in and late check out but this was not possible. In the first round, smartflats forgot to mention their baggage drop off lounge (which is in another location. Still.), after asking specifically, they offered us to use it.
Location is excellent. the space is big, there were lots of space for our two boys to run around. There were a starter kit in the kitchen: some pads for the coffee machine, dishwasher tabs, dishwasher fluid. (Would be nice if this would be written in a description so you don’t have to ask beforehand or bring your own stuff unnecessarily)

HungaryThere is no place to hang your coat at the entrance, also no hanger for your clothes and towel in the bathroom. There are some technical problems, which have not been fixed, although I informed the service provider about them: Tap in the toilet is not working, hair dryer not working, the light switch at the bathroom is not working, dishwasher leaves the dishes dirty.
Location is perfect, the apartment is big and comfortable. Beds are comfortable. Good value fir money.

GermanyThe Parquet floor nails were sticking out and cut off the stockings of the feet. There are no extractors/ventilator in the bathrooms. The shoes cabinet smell bad. The hand broom is not good. The pillows were very uncomfortable and very small. Sofa bed uncomfortable. Some curtains are off/not working. The rooms heating is off/not working.
