Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe hidden charges, I believed that I was booking a hotel with a spa. But when we used the spa/pool we were charged €36 each for 2 hours worth of use. Now this was not explained to us by either the reception desk or within the spa itself.
The location was very good. The hotel was nice and quiet. Our room was very nice.

Every thing was perfect comparing with the limited choices and luxary stays in Europe generally, but here you will find great and welcoming staff, wide spaces to move around, lovely breakfast and staff, the location of the hotel is great and near to lots of what you need as a tourist or visitor, i recived a small box of chocolate at the night of checkout as goodbyegift with kind words. I would stay again for sure if i visited Brussels another time.

United KingdomThe reason we booked this hotel was there is pool as we had our 12 year old with us. After arrival we learned that the pool was adults only and incurred an additional charge of euro 35 pp to use. The hotel and booking.com needs to make this very clear as we paid a lot extra to stay at a place with a swimming pool and we were all very disappointed.

United KingdomThe place lets itself down on small stuff. First night could not turn heating off... second night couldn't turn it on! There are clearly some issues with old infrastructure. Also little things like no face flannels in bathroom until day 3! Plates left un-cleared and in corridor. Poor in room entertainment.. old clunky TV system ... no internet channels... and could not connect to our own devices.. kept asking for on screen codes that never appeared.
Staff were excellent and breakfast buffet is great.
