Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything. The room we had was beautifully decorated and had a lovely outlook onto the canal. The hosts had excellent communication allowing us to manage our luggage and plans without worrying about check-in. The bed was very comfy and we loved the provided toiletries. The cooked breakfast and waffles were both excellent as well.

PolandWe enjoyed a perfect stay at the Doghouse, the best place for a weekend in Bruges! Our dog was welcomed with a dog beer like the true VIP (Very Important Pet) as he is. Beautifully decorated room with a view of the water. Nice addition was a notebook in a room with the bar and restaurants recommendation, also including dog-friendly advice. The owners made sure that we and our four-legged companion felt comfortable. To top it off, English breakfast prepared just for you with a nice glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice and tea or coffee of your choice. Additionally, as a Sunday treat – freshly home-made Belgian waffles. Highly recommended, with or without a dog.

SwitzerlandEverything was just perfect!!!!
We stayed at the doghouse for four days and it was one of the nicest B&Bs I have stayed in: the rooms are very lovingly decorated, beautiful furniture, accessories, linen, comfortable beds, even a small place to sit outside. Nick and Susie spoiled us with homemade waffles, fine bread and rolls and English breakfast. They gave us a very warm welcome and then there were the two cute dogs Roxy and Dexter, who presented us with their toys every morning. Just lovely and cozy- a very nice atmosphere!

Czech RepublicThere wasn't a single thing we didn't love.
We loved every minute we spent at this beautiful B&B. It's single handedly the best place we've ever stayed at! It's one and only right option when visiting Bruges, that's for sure. Delicious homemade breakfast, two of the friendliest dog buddies Roxy and Dexter, welcoming and warm hosts, gorgeous rooms and attention to detail... we're sorry we couldn't stay longer. Oh well, next time!

United KingdomThat we had to go home.
Where to begin? We absolutely loved staying at The Doghouse. The breakfast was freshly cooked each morning. The coffee was delicious. Our hosts, Nick, Susie, Dexter and Roxy were the hostess's with the mostess. They deserve to be nominated for one of the best places to stay in Brugges. This is our tenth visit and we have now found our fave place to stay. Where else do you find a dog like Dexter to greet you in the morning and tell you your sausage is cooked! I would hire him!

I loved my stay here. Nick and Susie were so friendly and accommodating. I had unexpectedly arrived far too early and Nick was very helpful with my luggage. The room was excellent, with a super nice bathtub, and an amazing view of the canal. I also had a dog with me, and we were given some fun complimentary dog treats (The dog beer was a fun one!). Breakfast was included and was delicious! One of my top trips! Our doggy hosts, Dexter and Roxy were also very sweet. They would accompany me during breakfast every morning!

United KingdomWe can't really think of anything we didn't like. The only addition to the room we could suggest would be some drawer space.
Loved the location and our room, which overlooked the canal. The hosts, Nick & Suzie, are so welcoming and friendly along with their very cute little dogs Roxy & Dexter. Nicks breakfasts were amazing, and Suzies waffles are delicious. Great to be able to borrow their bikes, which are so well maintained.

The owners really made the most out of this house. With great details, sustainable choices and as much comfort as possible on small space. The location is excellent - all in walking distance but in a more quiet street. Great breakfast and the owners (as well as their dogs) are super friendly. :)
