How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Turndown service, and complimentary foot massages after walking around the beautiful city!
Front staff was always very helpful with any questions or concerns I had and I was always greeted with warmth wither coming or going! Very nice atmosphere, safe, serene and comfortable stay. Thank you!

Shower floor was very slick, and no mat available. Scrambled eggs tasted like fish.
Stylish place, nice sized room with all the amenities. Helpful staff. Just far enough from the madness to where it's nice and quiet, but close enough to everything.

Cleaning lady threw away our contacts lens case.
Great location. Staff was great, especially Khem in the dining room. Really made you feel welcome. Good value for money.

Getting a deposit for mini-bar instead of direct payment. But it's their way of working, okay.

a beautiful hotel, so stylish, with lovely attentive staff and very comfortable facilities- the bed was incredible in the Exec room I stayed in (317) and everything just worked. such a great vibe in there, with a location a stumble from grand place. would definitely stay there again- ideal!

Their booking system failed to make my three rooms reservation (I was reserving the three rooms for a work related trip in the same transaction), so I reserved through booking.com. The problem is that one of the reservations on their system DID go through somehow (even when their system said it failed), and I had to deal with breakfast not being included, no-show charges, etc. The employees only solved part of my problems.

I would say only a little more attention to the cleaning of the rooms and stocking up in the room including teas/coffees. Disappointed that only one small water bottle given a complimentary when there are two persons in the room!!!
Lovely hotel and reception staff so welcoming and even leading up to the trip they have always been so VERY helpful over email and giving good advise locally for which I am very grateful - THANK YOU.

Only one bottle of complementary water per room per day. It would have been nicer if they gave one per guest. If you used the water for the coffee in the room there was none left to drink without purchasing some.
We loved everything about this hotel! It is centrally located - walking distance to the train station, attractions, restaurants. It is on a side street so even though we were minutes from everything it was very quite in the hotel. There is a restaurant on property with a pretty courtyard we had some drinks and small bites one night and it was so beautiful. The concierge was excellent. Each one was so friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. We easily took a day trip to Bruge - train station is a 10 minute walk. Concierge gave us recommendations of what to see and do in Brussels and Bruge.

We stayed at the Dominican for our wedding in Brussels. The hotel accommodated us perfectly, the breakfast was delicious, the rooms were lovely, and we enjoyed every minute there!
