How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

3rd floor without elevator with very narrow staircase. Single room is really tiny.
Quite simple but very nice breakfast. I really enjoyed it.

No hot water in the room; freezing water in the shower every day. As there was no real reception area it was unclear who to speak to so I unbeknownst to me told the night porter who dismissed it as a problem they didn't know how to solve! Staff nice to customers but not always very nice to each other. As the hotel is just within the ring with my room overlooking it, the traffic noise kept me awake till 2am every night.
Excellent breakfast, location centre.

The heavy rain falling noisily on the fanlights in the ceiling during the night. Lack of a lift would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues, but I appreciate that the building doesn't lend itself to installing one.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Very good breakfasts and other meals, including one on the roof terrace. Although I was in a single room, it was quite spacious.

I could not open the window of the room to get fresh air, only that.
The room was not very large but enough for me. The breakfast was great. The location was very easy to find, I walked from train station and the bus stops are very close. The hotel's cafe&restaurant is very much pleasing.

It's not luxurious or anything, and the breakfast is offered at the table (no buffet), but one can ask anything since the staff is amazingly friendly. So nothing minor actually!
Very friendly staff, comfortable and spacious room, quiet during the night and very close to the city center (on walking distance). I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again.

Stairs are quite tight and awkward Shower door didn't quite close properly so had to be careful to avoid flooding the floor
Easy to check in and out online to save time Good breakfast and dinner options (with recommendations from friendly staff when the menu wasn't in English!) Very clean

This hotel has no elevator. Not a problem if your bag is small enough, but if you have a big or heavy bag, getting to the higher floors is work.
Quaint hotel is reasonably priced and well located in town. breakfast was very good, and the staff was helpful. Free parking was available on the street across the ring road, or in the hotel lot a little farther away.

Th check-in / check out procedure was super smooth . You can check-out without passing the reception and pay via a website . The room is small but super cleen and functional! Staff is super friendly!
