Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germanyin a less well-promoted part of town. Storage space and hairdryers in the sanitary facilities would be good - perhaps they will be installed in future. Beds have to be made up like in some youth hostels or mountain huts, but this is ok for such themed location.
The price is still affordable for Ghent. Very creative, charming concept with a feel-good camping character, friendly operators. Only a 23-minute walk from the centre. One bottle of free water.

United KingdomWe did have a little few hiccups, but everything was sorted very quickly and efficiently. I did also fall in the shower as it was very clean, but didn't have a grip standing mat! Nothing to worry about though!
Really quirky look and feel to the place, very friendly and great space to have a good time. Few hiccups that were sorted very quickly. The caravans are very good spaces, do look into it to make sure they satisfy the sizes you need. We had a great time and would defo recommend.

United KingdomIt was somehow distant to walk to the city centre and the check in is from 3pm on, although you can leave your bags before that time
I loved the decoration, very original and attractive. Super colourful. The breakfast was good. The common area was cozy and there were games on one part. Toilets were in good condition. Staff was lovely

NetherlandsThe lights in the bathroom work on a sensor. If you need more time than usual on for example drying your hair, you're in the dark at some point. The pillow of the bed is also very thin
The interior of the hostel is very cute, it looks like a camping. The common room has also cheap beers and board games. The hostel is perfect if you want quiet. Normally it should be quiet after 22:00, but they warned us in advance that a staff member had their goodbye party and that there would be gigs until 23:00. I haven't heard a single thing after 23:00

AustraliaToilets were quite far away from the room - needed to go down one flight of stairs, across the main sleeping hall and common room, then up another flight of stairs - very inconvenient if you need to go in the middle of the night.
Fantastic included breakfast, beds were comfortable and room was nice with a window that opened (allowing for a nice airflow). Sink in room as well as shared bathroom and lovely bar / common space downstairs.

The place was vert unusual and fun with the decoration and concept. We've enjoyed being there even if the bed was quite small for two. Anyway it's camping! The breakfast was good and the staf welcoming. And even if you may think that it will be noisy, it's not

Cyprus-Showering in those showers isn't the most comfortable experience - wished there was a shower head and water could get warmer. Also the lights turn off automatically after 5 minutes or so... - Bed and whole caravan squeaking no matter how slow you move/walk. I felt uncomfortable moving around. - The table in the caravan was/is broken. - You sleep in a big room where other caravans are so it gets noisy. But late at night, around midnight it gets quiet again. - No heater or AC/fan.
- Use of the kitchen till 22:00 - A hangout place (with table football/ board games) and a bar - Lots of storing space in the caravan - Lots of toilets/ bathrooms - Friendly staff and easy check in/out - Breakfast is ok but don't expect too much - Cheapest option in Ghent if you still want some privacy - Lots of buses and trams close by (5-7 minutes walking distance)

TurkeyIt was my first (and probably last) time in a hostel. I stayed in the dormitory and it is unavoidable that people come and go in different times and make noise, so that your sleep gets interrupted many times during the night. Although treck hostel is probably the best hostel you can visit, it's still a hostel! and you should be aware of that. I did not deduce any points/stars as there is nothing the hostel can do about that.
The hostel was clean, sheets were changed daily and the staff was very friendly. You can see the hostel is run by people who love to do what they do. It has lots of creative touches here and there.

ChileNo laundry service available inside the hostel (Called Wassalons), so I had to walk about 3 blocks. Beware, because there are 2 close laundromats. The one called Wassalon Pleintje is a ripoff. Had to pay €13 to get everything clean and dry. This place was a suggestion done by one of the hosts (The only male in that shift, who was not nice). I suggest you go to the laundromat en Schaliestratt, crossing the river to the other side, only 2 blocks away. There, you pay only €6.
I loved the breakfast, very abundant and healthy. It was truly the best! Also liked the room, it was very clean, great lighting with all the appliances available. It even had a handwasher inside. Great toilets and showers, there were enough for everyone around the facility. Very conscious disposal of the waste, you had to separate everything in categories and there were labeled containers everywhere. Also, there is free stuff available in the kitchen and bathrooms. You can leave something useful and/or take in case of emergency. Everything was fantastic!
