How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It is situated at a good location -10 mins from shopping street. The owner is exceptional he helps you in any matter. The room resembles the building in Antwerp!

There is an option to store belongings in the building for some period after check-out, which is cool, but the storage itself may be upgraded a bit - only fit for small luggage + doesn't have any locks.
Great location - quite street, but right in the city center, 5 minutes walk from the main square. Cool building with high ceilings, stylish furniture and chandeliers. Clean and comfortable - room looks exactly like on pictures.

Great time spent at upstairs, close to city center and cheap parking at 900m. Appreciated assistance and communication from Maarten the lessor Highly recommended for one night in Antwerpen

The entrance is very grand with lovely decor we loved using the app for the entrance doors. The room was lovely and spacious, the hosts where lovely and helpful making our stay extra special. The location was excellent with everything a short walk away and would definitely book again.

There is no criticism it was fantastic
This is a wonderful room with fantastic facilities but most importantly it's perfectly situated in Antwerp The host is friendly and helpful I will definitely stay here again when visiting Antwerp

The locations was excellent! Maarten was a terrific host. I had several questions before we arrived and he promptly replied to all of them. He also gave us a good suggestion for where to get our wash done. The value for the price was excellent!

Room was warm, but it was like 32 degrees outside. Luckily there was a portable ventilator! Overall great experience
Location and service and facilities were great! Beautiful room for the price in the centrum of antwerp.

All superb. Keys work through an App and bluetooth which didn't work for us, but a practical alternative was provided. A couple more expressos and teas bags would be a plus.
Top notch room in the centre of Antwerp. Super modern, minimalist decoration mixing well with the historic elements of the building. Extremely comfortable bed, fabulous bathroom, and overall great room set up. Best location to explore the city by foot.

The apartment is located in walking distance to the city center and also the Shelde river. It was perfect for our one day trip to explore Antwerp's main tourist attractions without using public transport. The room and bathroom looked really nice, and was comfortable too. We like the spacious bathroom, (which has indeed no door, but it didn't bother us at all). The little hall on the first floor has a kind, special retro atmosphere.

We have no complaints, although a desk lamp would have been helpful. We would book this room again if we return to Antwerp, which is very likely as there is a lot still to see and some very good restaurants.
We loved the location and that the room was bright and spacious. The owner was very helpful about us leaving our luggage after checkout, when though there is no reception

There was nothing I disliked, but I prefer a door to the toilet ( there is a wall and the loo is round the corner
The bed was huge and comfortable- the sheets crisp and fresh smelling. The room as you can see from the photos is beautifully furnished. The app entry system worked well and the provision of a coffee machine was very welcome. The shower was spacious and worked perfectly. Maarten was very helpful with advice on what to see. The location was perfect- it was easy to walk into town

We would like to find a bottle of water upon our arrival. We also missed a couple of dishes
The stylish decoration, the comfortable bed and the large and convenient bathroom. The room was also very quiet. Very nice neighborhood. Perfect for short stays.
