Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo lift to get to the 2nd floor. Not a major issue for me, but might be for those with mobility issues. I am only giving it 8/10 and not 10/10 as my bed seemed a little unclean, it felt like bedsheets were not replaced as there was food crumbs on them. There was dust on the bedframe also.
Staff was really friendly. Room came with an AC. smaller bed shelf and door hangers. Towels were provided. Room had sufficient sockets to charge tech devices. Toilet/showers were clean. Cold filtered water machine was available to refill water bottle, which was convienient. Location was great, short taxi drive from the airport, the hotel was surrounded by markets and restaurants. Felt really safe, just like the rest of my time in Brunei. Luggage storage was allowed which was great. Overall value for money hotel and enjoyed my stay.

United KingdomThe room was very small. There was only one male and one female shower/toilet (shower and toilet in same room) for all rooms.
This is clean and efficient budget hotel situated not too far from the airport and city. The air conditioning is very effective and there is hot and cold drinking water provided. The owner communicated well between booking and arrival. Card payments accepted.

PhilippinesIt’s on the third floor and there’s no elevator so you’ll have to carry your bag. Aside from the night market, all attractions are far from the hotel, so you’ll have to take a bus or taxi to go anywhere. It will also be good if they can put up a bigger sign outside
It’s a nice place, the room is spacious and the bed is big and it’s actually quiet. It’s also in a nice location, near a bus stop, a mall and a night market.

NetherlandsNo breakfast, shared bathrooms could be cleaner. Sadly only possible to pay with cash. The WiFi was very, very bad. Almost no signal in our room; only a good connection in the shared living room.
Very good price & quality value because the general price for staying in Bandar is much higher. Friendly staff. Location of the guest house was good and quiet; also with several restaurants nearby. Free water refill available; also for coffee and tea.

MalaysiaThe hotel is on 2nd floor and there is only stairs to going up. It is not suitable for you who wants to stay the night with parents. There is no breakfast.
Strategic location, near from Gadong Night Market and the Mall. It is easy to find food for breakfast since there are many restaurants around.

Brunei DarussalamIn the middle of the night: Noisy kids, the same phone ringing loudly for minutes on end, same phone rang in the morning before 8am also. Other than that, all good. Creaky bed and small blanket for 2 pax.

United KingdomOnly 2 toilets (1 per gender) given the amount of rooms/ people using them Thin walls, woken up by a large group coming in after 11.30pm... No breakfast option means turning to limited Western options nearby, which are expensive in Brunei ($4BD for a coffee from McDonalds, also Tea Leaf & Coffee Bean However some local Roti eats nearby much cheaper - recommend buying a large pancake at the night market and save for breakfast in the morning!
Very comfy bed with soft mattress, very effective AC in the room, filtered water dispenser, free use washing machine available Good location to Gadong night market & bus station - 10 min walk from where the KK bus drops off Friendly owner, however he does live here and you may bump into him in his towel & singing along to loud music....it's a guesthouse after all! Felt safe in the area day & night 'Circle Line 01' Blue bus - (doesn''t seem to have a regular timetable) we got the 9.45am into BSB which was $1BD pp, where the route felt like a mini tour into the city was great & good value - regardless of online info they will stop running at 5.30pm (download Dart app just incase you need to get a taxi back!)
