How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was nice and clean. The whole hostel was nicely decorated and had a very welcoming feeling. Also the hosts were really friendly and helpful. We had a big and good breakfast with vegetarian options.

There is a bit of a smell from the drains but they do their best to keep the place smelling nice to mask this.
The owners of the property are so lovely and make the stay there. I was unwell after the salt flats and Wilma was so lovely and attentive to us. The breakfast is also great.

The showers had very little pressure and didn’t get hot.
A great little spot in a pretty good location, not too far from the bus terminal or main strip. The owners were lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The room was qlso in great condition.

We loved our stay here, it was so cosy and relaxing after a salt flats tour. All restaurants were closed during our stay due to the Bolivian census and hosts cooked us breakfast, lunch and dinner which were all delicious! Lovely hot shower and comfy beds with warm blankets.

Johnny was an amazing host. We booked our stay at 6:30am after arriving on the night bus into Uyuni - we originally weren’t planning to sleep a night before our salt flats tour but unfortunately my partner became sick on the night bus. Johnny was able to check us in at 7:00am so we could go straight to bed and my partner could sleep everything off. Johnny then came up to our room to bring us a big flask of tea and some biscuits as we told him my partner was ill! He was so kind and made us feel so at home. Breakfast was also amazing, lots of variety and good portion sizes!

Beds are a bit worn out (still ok). WiFi is very poor.
Good accomondation where you can feel at home. Host is super friendly and helps you with everything. Breakfast is one of the best in Bolivia so far! Nice roof top with views over Uyuni.

Owners are super friendly, we felt very welcome and at home here. Our Spanish is very limited but the couple and also their son were very patient and communication was really okey. The breakfast was great and plenty. We stored our bags here while on our tour to the salt flats and stayed one more night when we got back and when we arrived, our bags were already in our rooms and we were greeted with some hot tea.

My knees hit the cubicle door as I was too tall for the toilet haha
It was amazing, very comfortable and an incredible breakfast. Really comfortable beds also I had a job interview also and the owners let me stay in my room after checkout free of charge!

Really clean hostel (it’s a hostel, but a good one). The main reason for that is the owner and his family. They are really keen to help you with everything.

It's a little tired, could do with some maintainance.
The hosts are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Go our of their way to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast is AMAZING!

We couldn't quite get the shower right, it was either boiling hot or freezing cold. Maybe we just didn't know how to work it properly!
You won't find better hospitality anywhere. After our trip to the salt flats it felt like coming home when we returned to the Golden Quinua. They are so lovely and really look after you. The breakfast is fantastic and we were kindly provided with orange juice at all hours.

The only thing is the shower, that has a great water flow but it is a bit tough to adjust the heat.
Great hostal! The room was super cozy and well furnished. The breakfast was very good and the staff was incredibly kind and ready to help. We loved it!

Excellent hostess, Wilma, and her husband made sure our stay was perfect. The hostal is very warm, the rooms are clean and it has everything that is needed for a nice stay. I highly recommend it.

I had a great time staying at Golden Quinua. The owners are super nice and here if you have any questions. I left my backpack there for 3 days while I was doing the salar tour. When I got back, my backpack, was already in my room. I thought, that was sweet. I definitely recommend.

This hostel is really nice. In a quiet street just 5 min walking to the market. The stuff is amazing and really helpful and kind. The breakfast is unbeatable. 😁

Location is pretty far from the bus station. Luckily Uyuni is small so still walkable, but not a great location. The room is tiny (we are two tall Dutch people so that was a bit of a problem). The shower is not separated from the toilet, only by a shower curtain, and the switch box (where you can either switch on or off the electricity for the room) is located inside the shower, with only a plastic lid covering it..? Seemed quite dangerous to us.
Very nice and comfy bed. Owners are very kind and helpful.
