Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is an amazing Hostal. Thank you to Kevin and the team for making us feel so welcome and helping with everything we needed. The rooms are so cool and all have sensational views of the lake. Super comfy beds. Super hot shower. And the breakfast was the best we had in South America. Don't hesitate to stay here! You won't regret it

United KingdomVery clean and spacious rooms with good hot water in the shower. Nice balcony with great views over the lake and town. Staff were friendly and helpful and happy to provide a heater for cold nights. The common areas and surroundings are nice and very well maintained. It is a decent walk (15 minutes) from the town and lake, but as a result, it is very quiet.

AustraliaThe walls are pretty thin so we could hear talking and ‘other’ lol, noises easily. There was a toilet smell each morning outside our door but passed with a bit of breeze.
It’s up on a hill so beautiful sunsets, the rooms are also bright colours and clean. They also have two cats ☺️

United KingdomThe room got cold in the evenings/mornings. They provided a lot of blankets to help but a little heater would have been nicer.
Really nice place. Lovely rooms with a great view of the lake, nice chillout area with hammocks and day beds. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were really nice, I was not feeling well as I got food poisoning (from a previous location) and they arranged for a doctor to come out. Definitely recommend!

United KingdomThere are a few downsides. It is up several very steep hills including unpaved ones. I saw it as altitude training and exercise. Once I knew there was no restaurant that day the hills influenced my decision to have a crisp and Coca-Cola dinner while watching the sunset in the blanket. The shower pressure was low and the hot water is negligible. The shower curtain is very short.
The property is very lovely to look at. It’s white and very colourful & Mediterranean looking. Lots of gardens and terraces with hammocks and seating. The room was huge and decorated with lots of colour. The bed was enormous. The views from the bed were delightful. I had a shared terrace with seats and hammocks. My room had a heater should it get cold. Also a big, soft blanket that I used to sit outside and look at the stars. The breakfast was varied and plentiful with eggs & pancakes of your choice. There was a library if you had a book to swap. There was a restaurant but sadly not open the day I arrived. The staff were very helpful, kind and friendly. I loved my stay there. When I left they gave me a llama keyring as a thank you for staying. How lovely. I loved it there.

United KingdomNeither the toilet and shower in our room had locks from inside. There were only locks from outside which meant someone had to lock you in during a shower.
The views from the room over the lake were amazing! The room was clean and spacious with a very good shower. This hostel had an amazing breakfast, consisting of pancakes, eggs, fruits, breads, cheese, drinks etc. The staff were very helpful and any queries we had they would answer with a smile. Kitchen was big and well equipped. The location, although 15 minutes walk from town uphill, the views from the rooms and terrace are worth staying there for.

CanadaThe hotel is located steeply uphill, about 25 minutes from.the town centre. At 4000 metres, it makes walking to the hotel exhausting.. My room was also curiosly decorated,, , with dolls ....
The hotel is comfortable, I had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake, which was nice. The breakfast was good, the staff were pleasant

Beautiful hostel, room decorated in a cool and fun way, staff were so friendly and accomodating. They went above and beyond at breakfast, offering egg and pancakes upon your request. Great view from our room balcony. Offered room service food from local restaurant and sell tickets and other needed stuff at reception.

United StatesA bit far from town, but that’s actually a plus because that meant it was peaceful and quiet.
Gorgeous views of the lake and beautifully designed property. Very kind and helpful staff. I loved that it is Bolivian owned and family operated. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options: fruit, bread, ham, cheese, avocado, juice, yogurt, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, freshly prepared egg and crepe.

United StatesIt is a bit far up and the roads were a little muddy (unusually heavy rain in this time,) a little secluded up the hill and there is some unfinished construction around the location.
Excellent breakfast! Fun ambiance of the room with a feeling of phantasy and unique windows , unusually shaped bedsand decorations, plus amazing view and large terrace toward the lake. Very creative. We were tired and there was a lower room with easier access available that they very kindly let us have at the same price even though the cost for it would have been more. Very helpful staff in other ways as well.

GermanyThe shower in our room could only be scalding hot or freezing cold. Regulating it was almost impossible. Be aware that the hotel is up a hill. Cheap taxis are available to reach the place if you need to and was never a problem for us.
We had a great stay at Piedra Andina. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had booked a deal on a room with garden view but they were so kind as to give us a lovely room with a small terrace and views of the lake. Breakfast was great, with many things to choose from including pancakes.
