Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWas very surprised that room didn’t have air conditioning I would always just assume a room at this price would do so. There was some noise from building work which I would not have minded if they had warned me in advance but to be fair it was extremely well managed and not too annoying.
Perfect location in the middle of town, superb staff, lovely and relaxing pool area with access to an amazing bar and good food all day long.

ColombiaEverything was really exceptional!
This is an amazing place to get the best sunset at Uyuni. Also, the place gave the comfort that you do not have in another place. The staff is so kind and able to help you all the time. The hotel offers all in it: restaurant ( the breakfast was enough and tasty), bar, spa and a little shop to get beauty souvenirs at a good price. Besides, there is an agency to schedule tours if you need it.

United KingdomGreat hotel super close to the salt flats! You can cycle right out to them, worth noting you need to do a salt flats tour as well though so you can go further out! Lovely having a spa on site to relax and have a massage. Was fairly expensive for room size but lots of places to relax around the hotel so didn’t matter too much.

United StatesDuring summer season, the room can feel a bit warm. Also, the sun rises at around 5 am and our room got really bright.
The staff members were helpful; they helped arrange airport shuttle and pick us up when we arrived in Uyuni (otherwise this would have cost 200 Bolivianos). The pool is beautiful and the water temperature is just right.

CanadaReally hard to find something bad about the hotel, but organizing a shuttle from the airport wasn't as easy as I thought. Be sure to coordinate this in advance. This should not be a deterrent though.
Hands down the best hotel I have ever been to - in either North America, South America, or Europe. The unique design of the Salt Hotel was something that you need to pay up for. The rooms were very cozy and it had a great view. Bolivia might not be known for its food, but the food at the hotel was incredible. The A la Carte was delicious and the chef prepared unique plates. The buffet was also delicious and the service was friendly. Ditto with the breakfast. The pool and spa were also extremely unique - it had incredible design and the view across the salt flats was absolutely mesmerizing. This is a must-stay.

This place is amazing. Very well-run. We arrived early from La Paz (9 am) and they had our room ready by 10 am! Really appreciated that (gracias). Scrumptious food and great service (wide selection of unexpectedly good Bolivian wines). The landscape around the hotel is just stunning.

United KingdomDinner in the evening wasn't value for money. We ate bar snacks the second night we were there.
Hotel was amazing in such a fantastic location. Breakfast was really good. We hired bikes from the hotel and cycled into the salt flats. We used the spa which was really lovely.

United KingdomIt could get quite hot even with only one heater on during the night (there are at least 3 heaters in our room). Buffet breakfast and dinner doesn’t have much choice.
You can walk or rent a bike to the salt flat easily. Room with hot shower, the pool and saunas are great. Food from the bar is good.

BoliviaLunch/bar food was a bit basic - only a vegetarian club sandwich which wasn’t that tasty. Wi-Fi could be better!
What a place! If you want to wake up after sleeping in a salt-domed bedroom in a super comfy bed to a stunning sunrise, and then go and have a delicious breakfast, this is the place to stay! I was short on time and could only do a one day tour of the Salar, and this was such a great way to extend the experience to include night time views and enjoy the sunrise. The spa is open to 11pm which was so nice after a long day and a chilly sunset over the Salar. There’s a really toasty heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

GermanyLocated directly at the Salt Flats with an unblocked view to the Salt Flats and to the sunset, built from salt blocks like an palace for a king, it is absolutely impressive. The facilities and the services exceeds any ratings. You feel like in paradise. They have their own travel in-house travel company, Abigail Hidalgo Corp., who have arranged on short notice an unforgettable tour for me. The evening Buffet was also very impressive.

New ZealandThe buffet dinner was OK but lacked the variety of breakfast. There were only a handful of guests staying so maybe it was a reduced selection ? 🤔 Not worth the $US28 per person IMHO

ThailandThe road to the property is like in the desert. Some signage along the way would be great!
The hotel is located outside the city, on the salt flat itself. You’ll need transport to commute. The hotel does offer free shuttle to airport which is very nice. The facility is awesome. Heated bed is a big pleasant surprise considered days we spent in other desert hotels with not even proper heater nor WiFi. This place is a gem!

JapanOut transportation arranged from the hotel to the airport stopped midway because it ran out of gas. Uyuni Airport has about a flight every 2 days so I really didn't want to miss that flight. You'd expect a hotel with this much production to check the fuel meter???
Beautiful hotel with really nice staff. Had a lot of toiletries, especially for Bolivia. They gave us some free chocolate samples and offered hot drinks at lobby in the afternoon. Also just awesome views. I personally liked the heavy blankets but I don't think it's for everyone.
