How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing. Everything was amazing for a Hostal. The best one of my 2 month trip so far.
The view of the beach, the curated garden and the wonderful hosts. They were so welcoming and it made me feel comfortable straight away. Martin was especially kind.

The breakfast was very simple and the bread was stale.
The room was large and comfortable and we had an absolutely amazing view of the lake through a panoramic window. The hosts were very welcoming. The garden is beautiful and has a couple of alpacas and very friendly dogs. WiFi was good.

Our shower did not have hot water.
Friendly staff, great accommodations, they even gave us a free upgrade which was very appreciated. Their llamas and dogs on property are also a nice touch!

The beds could be a bit hard for people. Not a fan of the tree trunk head boards 😄
Lovely grounds with llamas grazing. Relaxed and quiet. Amazing views. Simple but good breakfast. My husband was unwell and they allowed us to check out later before departing.

We stayed in a bungalow which was rather cold, and the shower was freezing
Location is a little walk to town but quiet and with great views. Hostel is friendly, with llamas, dogs and cats and good gardens. Breakfast was pretty good, but the same each day so starts to get a bit boring. Hosts were helpful during Bolivian census when everyone was confined to accommodation, allowing us to use their kitchen. There are some excellent Inca sites in Copacabana and just outside which don't get publicised enough, so go explore.

Beautiful place with great views and a garden. Nice dogs and alpaca! Good breakfast and a nice location just outside the city. Just perfect, huge recommendations!!

The location was a bit far away so you have to walk 15 min to to centre which is for Copacabana quite far but then you have a nice view and isolated accommodation so you can't have everything.
Martin was such an amazing host, he was so kind and friendly. He really made us feel at home and comfortable. The views were insane, the price was really good for the value and the breakfast was also good.

The door to the bathroom is not for tall people - we hit our heads a couple of times. Also shower curtain would be a fast improvement!
The pictures don't lie, the view is amazing! The llamas grazing in the garden are super cute. Very nice and helpful staff! Good breakfast.

It was a bit cold in the room at night (bungalow) but there were a lot of blankets
The garden is very beautiful and has a lot of good spots to hang out. There are two alpacas as well, they are very cute. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer free drinking water and a book exchange. I really loved this place.

The view of the lake from our room was amazing! The yard is also a great place to relax and take in the views. The breakfast is good and includes bread, eggs, fruit and tea or coffee. It’s about a 15 minute walk from town but the view makes it worth it. The staff let us hang out in the yard after check out to wait for our bus.

Everything was perfect! Amazing place, amazing and helpful staff, they were all extremely nice. We stayed in a bungalow with 4 and it was very comfortable and the view was amazing. There are dogs, cats running around and 2 very cute lamas. Wish we stayed longer here. Best place we stayed at during our South America tour.

Be prepared for a few creepy crawlies in the cabin!
Really sweet family run eco hostel. We stayed in one of the cabins which had a little seating area which was perfect to look out onto the lake. The 15 min walk from town made it a peaceful location. Despite other reviews we found the breakfast was up to standard for South America. Loved the animals roaming around.

A shower curtain would be nice in the shower.
The room was quiet and de beds were decent. The hostal has a great garden and view on Titicaca!! The staff was very friendly. The center is a 15 min walk, the road next to the water is safe in daylight. In the dark you can easily take a taxi. We also recommend a taxi if you arrive with the public bus at the Plaza, the walk to the hostel is uphill.

Wifi dropped out one evening and no water pressure one morning - although got hot water both times when using the shower. Laundry service came back with clothes still damp.
Amazing view from the room and very peaceful location. Lots of warm blankets for the colder nights and cute animals all around the garden. Owners were lovely. Breakfast was not too bad compared to other breakfasts we’ve had around Bolivia and Peru.

It's quite a bit of walk into town.
Absolutely gorgeous view of the lake from the huge window in the room. Beautiful gardens on the property and three friendly dogs.
