Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyEveryone was very nice, helpful, connected with the nature and sympathetic. They offered many different tours, so the night tour-which was very interesting and great. As well the Kanu-tour was wonderful. Watching all the birds was amazing and the personal knew and could explain all of them. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always very fresh and tasty. A super stay-thank you! Manu and Alain

United KingdomIt was all great. Very minor point would be to clean the pool more often as the water was quite cloudy when we arrived so didn't use the pool until later in our stay when it was cleaner (this wasn't a big deal for us-it was more comfortable to rest inside during the hottest hours anyway!)
Caio and Bene the guides were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and really made our time at Aymara special! We loved getting to do canoe, walking and bike safaris, day and night safari drives (some at extra cost but good value!) and we saw such a diversity of wildlife. The jaguar expedition to Porto Joffre is not to be missed-truly a life changing experience to see a jaguar in the wild and, whilst it was a long day and additional cost, was so well organised and very worth it. The lodge itself is great with fantastic food, friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable and cool rooms (with air con which is very necessary in the Pantanal!). You feel very close to nature the whole time but are also in comfort. As an aside, it was very useful to be able to buy a wildlife guidebook and long sleeved top at the lodge. Staying at Aymara was the perfect way to see the wonders of the northern Pantanal-I highly recommend.

United KingdomIt was fairly expensive. The safari no longer goes on the Pantaneira, so limited animal viewings.
Lovely rooms and comfortable bed. We stayed 3 nights and saw lots of birds, in particular a family of Hyacinth Macaws in the tree on the grounds of the lodge. There were also monkeys in the trees. The pool was great in the heat, but we did need insect repellent when we got out! The staff were all very attentive, the guides were all trained biologists and very knowledgeable. The food was excellent, probably the best we had in Brazil overall. A great stay.

United KingdomWe were at the lodge at the end of April which is apparently the worst time for mosquitoes. Make sure you bring repellent and clothes to cover up if you plan on visiting during this time.
We had a lovely time at Aymara Lodge. The guides (Pablo and Caio) were so friendly and welcoming. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the region and it’s wildlife and their enthusiasm made our time at the lodge really enjoyable. The food was nice and there was something for everyone, the service staff were lovely as well. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location was really beautiful. Everything ran smoothly and overall we had a great time.

CanadaThere wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
The Aymara was amazing. It is a very idyllic nestled in the Pantanal. The setting is beautiful with lovely cabins, a restaurant, cozy bar and swimming pool. The food was very good, the staff were very attentive and worked hard to ensure we had a memorable stay. We saw many birds and animals and our guide was so knowledgeable and had a deep love and understanding of his environment. Wha memorable experience for anyone who loves nature.

SwedenWe are a family of 4. Inc 2 teenagers. If you are planning to visit Pantanal, this is the place to stay. Some of the reasons: 1. Location. Aymara is direct by the river. Whenever you feel like it, you can take one of the canoes, and 60 seconds later you are in the jungle, without a sound you can row down the river and safely observe the wild nature. 2. The team. You will first of all learn to know the super friendly owner family. Owner Giuliano is a former zoology guide. During the big fires in 2019, some voluntaries came to Pantanal, just to do what they could to save the wild life. One of these voluntaries is Pablo, a young biology school teacher and scientist. Pablo’s plan was to stay for a few weeks, but have now decided to dedicate his life to the well-being of Pantanal nature. As a guide at Aymara. Thanks to , Giuliano, Pablo and many others, the fires never reach the area around Aymara. Instead the area became the safe place and water hole for many animals. Maybe that is why there are so many animals around the lodge to look at :) 3. The rooms. Air condition works very well and beds are great. You will fall asleep, and wake up, to jungle sounds. 4. The food. Bufê of all types of Brazilian food. Fresh fish from the Pantanal rivers. And much more. 5. In the evenings, some of the guides light a small bonfire, and play some songs for us, while we enjoy cold drinks. Nice! 6. Activities: Yes, Aymara arrange jaguar safari, and sport fishing, etc. But of course, you never know if the jaguar will turn up, with the risk go home disappointed. Which is crazy as you are in the paradise of the world! You should not go into the wild and expect the expected. So we suggest you skip these things completely and instead spend your time horse riding in the water lands (no experience needed), or look for toucans, tapirs, deers, caimans, ant-eaters, blue macaw, birds, etc etc ………..in a morning or night Safari with Pablo. Or canoeing.

GermanyIt was a fantastically beautiful lodge in the middle of nature. Already in the lodge itself, one saw a lot of animals. My personal highlight were the hyacinth macaws. A dream came true to watch them in the great outdoors. The excursions are also very well organized and provided unforgettable experiences. Again, a big thank you to Pablo ☺️ About the food we can only say that everything was very, very tasty. We had an unforgettable stay and would definitely recommend Amaya Lodge to others
