Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Beautifully decorated , comfortable and cosy room. Nice view to the sea, even though the hotel is located very close to the busy mean street the area of the hotel is quite and private.

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn't like, but if I were to make recommendations I would say the beds could be a little more comfortable and more power points for charging phone/computer etc.
Location was perfect. It was close enough for an easy walk into town but far enough that it was a nice quiet section of the beach. Simple but beautiful property and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

BrazilVery little space for clothes or suitcases (we had 2 large suitcases) There was a short clothes rail directly above the place you put your suitcase so when you open your case you have to move all the clothes. Tiny balcony but it was a Standard Room. At check in I was asked to provide the credit card that was used to book the room. As it was a "virtual online card" I was not able to provide this as my bank blocks online transactions with the physical card number (as most banks are now doing). They asked me to pay the full amount on another card and would refund my original card. I refused to do this as the refund would not be immediate. This caused some discomfort until the manager intervened. I ended up having to sign a declaration form to attest that I was the card holder for the booking. A very strange request that I have never experienced in the 100's of hotels I have stayed in.
Location is excellent. Direct access to the beach from one side and access to the main street from the front of the hotel. It's far enough back from the street to avoid the noise at night. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options. Afternoon tea every day at 5pm is a nice touch. Hotel is kept very clean. Staff are very friendly. Room amenities & toiletries are very good quality. Nice powerful shower to wake you up!
