How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had a room near reception, at night we could hear the buzzer for people to get in. Also the kitchen had no big bowls or plates.
Very clean and comfortable. Good location and friendly staff.

Amazing people working there, I extended my stay for over a week there because it was such a good place to stay, walking distance from the main attractions and in a safe area

This is a great hostel - I returned here after visiting Ouro Preto and then extended my stay again. Easy going, helpful staff, really clean. Dorm had great lockers for bags - first time my large rucksack actually had a place to go. Highly recommended, I would definitely go back.

This is a great hostel - super clean, really friendly staff and close to the main square, restaurants, supermarkets etc. Nice little terrace and an area for digital nomads. I extended my stay here and would definitely return.

Wifi was quite bad. Staff is clearly instructed to be nice and follow a standard procedure but can be rude at times.
The bed/dorm was good. Decent lockers.

The rooms get very hot at night.

Everything was pretty good
Good location very close to markets a other places. The private room is really worth it if you can reserve. It has Air Conditioning! first i've seen in Brazil. Also has a great co-working area to work on your commputer.

Definitely one of the best hostels I have stayed in so far! It’s located really close to the Savassi square, with a vivid nightlife but far enough that you don’t get disturbed if you want to call it a night early. The staff is super friendly and always happy to help. The hostel offers a variety of activities for you to get in touch with the other guests (if you haven’t met them on the cool balcony yet). The breakfast options are imho fairly priced and a good way to start your day: The most expensive option (15BRL at the moment) contains a sandwich, some pão de queijo, a piece of cake and a fruit salad (+coffee) but if you fancy a more sophisticated breakfast you’ll probably be better off not booking it at the hostel and rather search for some place in Savassi.

Nice atmosphere, good facilities. The hostel is well managed with dedicated spaces for coworking and for socializing. The private room was comfortable. Recommended.

The lockers to keep things inside the dorms are close to a wall, so very difficult to maneuver, especially without making a sound to other guests. Breakfast options are limited and you have to pre-order if you want pao de queijo.
I had zero expectations from this hostel but it completely exceeded whatever I could've waited from it. The location is more than perfect, the common areas and the hammock space are the best from this place.

Would be nice to have more private rooms as they run out very fast.
This hostel has everything to be among my top places. Great location in Savassi, the liveliest area in Belo Horizonte, full of bars, restaurants, and museums. I felt safe walking around the hostel at all times. They provide simple yet nice breakfast included in the price. It has a nice terrace to chill, meet other travellers, and enjoy the music events they organize regularly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cleaning team worked very hard to make sure every corner was tidy. Many people from other parts of Minas Gerais and Brazil staying during the week, which was great to learn more about the region and the country. Will definetely stay again here when coming back to BH!

The beds were quite unstable and creaked a bit. Not too much room for hanging out inside (which would have been nice when it rained.) Breakfast was quite sad.
Staff were super nice, the hostel is very centrally located near restaurants and museums.

If the breakfast was better it would be an outstanding hostel. Also, the pillows are not very good quality.
Neat and clean hostel. Great location in BH. Lots of bars, restaurants and cafes around. Good value for money.

The location was perfect, near of everywhere. The breakfast in my opinion was weak but I had breakfast in the nearby snack bars, they are cheap. The hostel was good, clear and good reception. A good place to work too.
