A washing machine would have been practical. Bring warm clothes in July the nights can be cold.

Muito obrigada! The name "buena vista" stands for a really nice view and the view was incredible. You could see Ouro Preto from above and the hostel also had big windows to enjoy sunset. The breakfast was good as well and the owners are very friendly.

Wonderful location with panorama view of town. We were not expecting, big surprise :D The breakfast was simple but filling. Nice quiet place for couples. Great wifi with open space to do work quietly. The staff and family running the hostel were very kind and accommodating. We would defintely come back next time in Ouro Preto :D

The host is very friendly and it literally feels like one becomes part if the family. Besides, the breakfast is great and extensive filling one's belly for a long amount of time!

Very friendly staff and very willing to help, but difficult to get some information because during our stay there weren't many locals who could actually give us information..

The location is not that central, but is has a very nice view. Atmosphere was very chill and not much people there (May). Nice breakfast!

It's a little walk out of the center (about 10-15mins) so with heavy back packs it's not the best. There are buses that pass right in front of the hostel so I recommend taking one under these circumstances. The one going to Mariana will drop you right there.

This family owned hostel is lovely. It has a wonderfull view from the dorms upstairs and I slept very comfortably. The best part of the hostel has to be the friendliness of the family. The allowed me to check in early, stay around after check out because my bus was very late and made sure I was confortable the whole time. It made the stay so nice! There is also a mine right behind the hostel and it has a discount is you stay there.

- the location itself is a bit far away (15-20 minutes of walking up and down) from the bus terminal and the city Center itself. Because ouro Preto is safe it’s no issue safety wise but only because of fitness.

The view was insane! You could see all of Ouro Preto from the Balcony. Breakfast was delicious and the beds were super comfortable. The owner and his son will help you with whatever you need. The son speaks English to assist you. -The mines are close to that place

The gate needs some form of self-entry (e.g. keypad) and the steps and walkways are very slippery when it rains, which is very often.

The Buena Vista Hostel is excellent value for money. Raphael and his staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The hostel had more the feel of a large family farmhouse. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate and the fresh coffee was excellent. The staff were very relaxed about guests being up late talking and singing. I was there on new year's eve. Raphael and his staff put on an excellent party - which was very inexpensive - and everyone had a very memorable night.

The view from this hostel is amazing - it isn't called Buena Vista for nothing! Another great thing about this place is the staff; they are incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location is good, about 10 minutes walk from the central square.

We got a 6-people mixed room. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was just the 3 of us, so we had the space for ourselves. I just wonder if there would be enough space to put the bags of 3 other people inside the room. But they do have lockers outside of it, so I guess that would be a good choice!

The location is perfect and the staff are extremely helpful and caring. The breakfast was simple but absolutely delicious!
