Although the staff tried to keep the kitchen clean, other guests didn't clear up after themselves. We couldn't get into our room until late afternoon because they were doing repairs

Delay in getting room because of repairs being done, booking being cancelled and having to re-book because they couldn't take payment, kitchen often dirty, desperate best endeavours of staff, found maggot on table!!

Copacabana hostel is a nice place to stay with close facilities like: supermarket, gym, restaurants. People there are very friendly and helpful , clean areas. I like the big red tables in the kitchen and the view was calm. internet connection great!!! Leonardo is really good and speaks different languages.

Wi-Fi strong most of the time. Sometimes you had to switch between networks but otherwise was fine.

The ac was good and cold. The rooms were cleans, and the staff was warm and friendly. I was frequently helped by Evelyn, florinda and the owner whenever I needed help. The accommodations are very nice and they allowed me to check in early. I highly recommend this place to stay short term and long term. Good area and close to train station, beach, laundry mats and grocery stores

THIS WAS THE WORST HOSTEL I’VE EVER STAYED. No human should ever stay here. Not clean, there is not soap in the bathroom to wash hands. And even though i asked the hostel manager he said ok but still didn’t help me any better. I couldn’t wash my hands for whole 10 days. Think about how many people comes and goes to this hostel not washing their hands with soap touching everywhere. This is not humanity. And a soap is not something expensive worth less than 0,50 cent. Not clean NOT CLEAN NOT CLEAN. Not comfortable the beds are the worst, sleeping is impossible. You have to do your own bed and the sheet they give you is like plastic so it does not hold on to the bed. I recommend you for your own good. Do NOT stay here

For starters the bathroom light didn't work and the sheets where dirty, i layed on the bed and saw a really gross Tick walking 🤢 I have more bad things to say about that place but i think that's enough, would not recommend, i stayed at better places for the same price.

I don't trust this place the owner make up a story that someone steals his pix check so the police come and search inside the lockers when I came back I open the locker see my suitcase open(she was close with a code also the locker had a lock) and the money gone so even in the lockers your stuff is not safe,they clean one time a day and if the toilet paper is finished you need to wait until next day,if something happens and you need help the owner yells at you and don't want to help also other people stuff was missing not only mine. The matters is old and smells old and the ceiling have mold it's very dangerous to breathe it.

Mildew on the celling, cleaning only in the morning time,rooms are too small, sometimes they let people sleep in the living room so the kitchen is the only common area,the toilet paper end and you need to wait until the morning,the owner make up story that someone steal his pix check so he let the police enter and they search in all the lockers while the cameras was off when I came back and I open the locker my suitcase was open(was with code) and my money gone I don't trust this place even if you put stuff in the locker is not safe I stay there only because I didn't had where to go.

****I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL**** First of all the description of the hostel says it has ac but they just turn it on at night, it also says it has breakfast and it doesn’t. Also the wifi works terribly bad in the rooms, when it does. The reply of the owner to that was "go to the common areas". The room was clean though, but he owner of the property is extremely rude and abusive with staff and guests as well. This is what happened: I was coughing bc of the air conditioner of the trains, there were 2 more girls with me in the same room so I explained the situation to them and they saw me coughing, and asked if it would be a problem to turn off the air conditioner so I didn’t get sicker. They agreed and even one of them turned it off herself. The next day at 11:00pm I was passing by the hall and the owner yelled at me like crazy, completely out of his mind, like seriously, it was so scaring I thought he was going to hit me. It was 11:00pm and he was very emphatic repeating like crazy I wasn’t welcome in his property, just because my roommate had turned off the ac the night before. I started to cry bc I was so scared and when one of the staff members came to comfort me and hug me, the owner became completely out of his mind and yelled at her saying she was crazy for comforting me and that she was going to lose her job. Later on, the other staff girls told me he was always like that with them, yelling them all the time and insulting them for whatever reason. They also said this behavior with his guests was systematically. Next day, my roommate told me the owner broke the lock of a guy’s locker yelled at him, insulted him and threw his stuff to the street. Seriously this guy has serious comportamental problems. Im afraid one day he ends up hitting someone or doing something even worse. Please don’t stay in that hostel. There’s so many more in the same are, very well located, with similar prices, and they do not insult people
