Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy only recommendation would be for the staff to label the amazing food they serve. A few Brazilian guests were kind enough to describe the food for us.
Book this hotel! Great staff - the guides, boat operators, drivers, bartender/cooks were all amazing. But lets take a minute to discuss the food. Every day, I saw every guest get up for a second plate. Best meals I had while in Brazil (including Rio and Manaus). They also took in guest preferences from vegetarians, to my friend and I - I have a seafood allergy and she had a peanut allergy. Communication prior to and during the trip was perfect and was well coordinated. I knew where to be when and what to wear. Hot tip: bring an extra 1-2 pairs of clothing and shoes just in case it rains while you are on a tour. Its too humid for clothing to dry. You dont want to wear wet socks and sneakers on a 2 hour jungle walk. Prior to traveling spray your clothes and shoes with an insect repellent like sawyer made for clothing. Bring a handheld fan.

NetherlandsThe rooms could have been a bit brighter with a more modern mosquito net. The only reason I say this is that it made us feel a bit stressed more than it made us feel calm about the local bugs.
The food was absolutely exceptional. The location itself, while a bit of a travel, was great for excursions into the amazon. The guides and staff were friendly, professional, and fun!

BrazilMe and my husband went for a mini honeymoon and we had an amazing and unforgettable experience! We had Dodó as our guide and Santiago as boat driver and they were the best, so knowledgeable and passionate about the Amazon! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot! Food was amazing and freshly cooked everyday. We got to eat the piranhas we fished the day before! Accommodation was better than expected, it really made a difference to have the AC in the room. We did have some insects and small frogs visiting us in the room but it was totally expected from being in the middle of the jungle and that didn´t bother us. We felt protected with the nets above the bed and didn´t hear a single mosquito during our sleep. It was very nice arriving from the activities and finding the beds done and net prepared for you with fresh towels everyday. Bring cash to spend at the bar and to buy art crafts from locals, they accept PIX but it´s hard to get wifi connection for that.

United StatesNothing that took away from the trip. Showers had limited hot water at times. Due to language miscommunication we were charged an excessive amount for a bottle of wine but that is not an issue with the lodge. Bugs including cockroaches would come into the rooms but once we sealed/hid/threw it out any open snacks it was less of a problem.
Absolutely incredible experience in the Amazon rainforest. Drivers for 2 car rides and 2 boat rides to and from the lodge from airport was seamless. The lodge is beautifully located in the rainforest on the river. Our tour guide Thiago was very knowledgeable and took us on multiple exciting trips-- hikes along river and into rainforest, nighttime Caiman watching, sunrise viewing on the river, piranha fishing trip. Other reviewers on booking.com had mentioned issues with not having enough cash-- highly recommend bringing extra cash for buying items from local village (during tour of turtle sanctuary/village) and tips. However, we were able to pay using credit card for other items (extra alcoholic drinks/sodas purchased at bar) with a negligible credit card fee. Room was comfortable with helpful bug nets around beds. Recommend bringing long sleeves and long pants and bug spray/cream for jungle hikes to protect against mosquitoes. Food was incredible and plentiful-- Tambaqui is a local fish that was served in multiple ways and delicious. Had no issue with not having enough food/snacks like other reviewers.

Actually I Have no words to describe our experience there. It was just AMAZING. From the wonderful Lodge and the delicious, fresh Food, to the kind staff and the exciting tours. United StatesThey could fix up the grounds a little bit with some more seating areas. Our mosquito net and window screen did have one small puncture.
I can't imagine what the more expensive options could really offer above this -- it's an all-around great experience. It's as comfortable, safe, clean, and delicious as you need for a stay in the jungle! The staff is absolutely delightful and you won't believe the things you'll see and feel. Great meals, air conditioned rooms, strong shower, fresh juice, amazing views, exciting excursions. We saw every creature you could imagine: dolphins, caymans, monkeys, sloths, frogs, tarantulas, etc.

BrazilFor the price, I expected more attention to some details: - As it rain a lot, each room could have an umbrella, to walk from bedroom to the restaurant - Bedroom lamps could be cleaner - Menu could vary a little bit more for whom stay longer - Ability to pay extra for some experiences or create my own combination of activities during my stay
Staff is the differential of Dolphin Lodge. Despite they are gentle and helpful, they are locals with a lot of interesting knowledge and life history to share, what makes the stay a cultural immersion. The actitivties included in the stay are amazing, and the experience is intense ith no rush. If you want to stay in a true Amazon experience and not just a "disney show", here is the place.

AustriaVery affordable and tasty caipirinha can give headaches the next day ;)
My stay at Dolphin Lodge in the heart of the Amazon exceeded all expectations. The package, inclusive of accommodation, food, and guided jungle tours, provided an unforgettable experience. The guides, especially Thiago, went above and beyond, ensuring our small group had personalized attention throughout the four nights. Thiago and Leo, our boat driver, were not just knowledgeable but genuinely passionate about the Amazon. Thiago's daring act of catching a cayman showcased his dedication to creating unique and thrilling experiences for us. The food was a highlight – some of the best fish dishes I've ever tasted. The seamless hotel pick-up added to the overall convenience, making this Amazonian adventure a truly remarkable and safe experience. Dolphin Lodge is a must for anyone seeking an immersive and well-crafted journey into the heart of the rainforest.

AustraliaAll the excursions were fantastic, but we missed out on the last day as we had to leave very early with another group. I would recommend staying 3 or 4 nights to make the most of the experience.
We had a fantastic stay at Dolphin Lodge! Our guide Thiago was amazing, the facilities rustic but comfortable and food very tasty! I appreciated their flexibility in preparing gluten-free meals for me as well. The transfer from Manaus (car, speedboat, car and speedboat again) sounded complicated, but it was very smooth. Just make sure you travel light as you will have to carry your luggage from car to boat to car to boat! There were almost no masquitos when we visited (January).

SwitzerlandI knew that the rooms, were more "rustic". And what I was afraid the most, happened! Many many animals came inside my room in the evening ( I stayed 3 nights, in Superior Bungalow), and often cockroaches, frogs, wasp and even small marsupials could enter the room (I am aware that we are in a forest and there its their space), but still this was a big issue close to the sleeping time. The days were amazing, but all my group didnt have a good sleep.
I really like the lodge overall! The staff was super great, every single person was nice and super helpful. The food was amazing, very simple, but super local and fresh things. Definitely one of the highlights! We had a guide, his name is Thiago, which was super great and nice in explaining the things of the forest and animals.

United KingdomAir conditioning not very strong so can get warm. Mosquito nets provided not amazing. Do not go with a set idea based on the itinerary as we were initially put off by the laid back attitude as didn't want to miss out on anything. It's very much take each day as it comes and your guide will suggest plans for each day
Meals were delicious, our tour guide Omario was great and really tried his best with his English to explain things to us. Accommodation was comfortable with WiFi being accessible from the room. Bring your own mosquito nets!

United StatesThis place is fantastic. Transfer from and to Manaus was seamless. Food is tasty and vegetarian options are plentiful (and include proteins!). The excursions are awesome and our guide, Mo (and his brother) were fantastic helping us spot tons of animals, incredible generous with answering questions, and even made the cultural visit with a local family (which can often be performative or awkward in other place) into something cool, educational, real and meaningful. This place is an absolute gem.

United StatesFrom the driver Eduardo, to our guide Ronaldo, everyone was amazing! Eduardo was kind and told us history facts about Manaus while taking us to our destination. He waited to make sure we we're all set when he dropped us off. Ronaldo was the best guide! So knowledgeable about the area and willing to answer my thousands of questions. Felipe the bartender was speedy and always ready to serve. Even Dona Dalva one of the cooks was ready to chat with me and ended up baking a birthday cake for one of the guests celebrating their birthday. The owner, seu Mocinho, would never admit to being the owner and you wouldn't ever tell, greeted us, made sure we we're all set, simple great guy. Washington was out boat driver, also knowledgeable and willing to share stories. I can't stress enough how wonderful this place and obviously staff was. I'm ready to go back! United StatesPack some snacks. There are only 3 meals a day which are included in your stay.I wished there was an option of a cafe and a restaurant which operates during non meal hours. There can be some misunderstanding for your requests between the staff at the lodge and the office in manaus, just make sure that they are clearly communicated for both ends. Would appreciate it if the food served in the meals had sort of cards with the name and some information.

Wonderful scenery and location. Ismael was our guide and shared his knowledge and insights to show us the sights, sounds and tastes of the Amazon. The transport organisation from airport pickup to lodge and back again was very smooth. We were met by a smiling Eduardo at the airport ahead of schedule after our early arrival. Excursions again, were well organised. Food was very tasty. Exotic flora and fauna at every turn. Rooms very clean and comfortable considering they are in the middle of the jungle. Only suggestion that I would suggest is the option of an extra towel change, as we had the same ones for four days. When showering two times a day they got a bit grubby. Apart from that small issue, it was an unforgettable experience.

AustriaEverything was perfect, the only things we could mention is that as you might imagine it does get quite hot, so we recommend choosing a room with airconditioning. When we booked our stay they were sold out so we got a room with a fan which was okay but it did get a little too hot sometimes. Not a big deal though as I said, we really loved it here :)
Our stay at the Dolpin Lodge was exceptional. I can't decide what we liked most but I think our highlight were the incredible guides (our guide Romario was just the best) their flexibility when it came to all of the tours and activities and the fantastic food. We had a pretty tight schedule and they let us add an extra activity to one of the days because we had to leave so early on our last day. Before we arrived they had already sent us a lot of information which was very helpful and always responded right away. We got picked up from our hotel in the morning and the transfer was perfect. When we got to the Dolphin Lodge we received a welcome cocktail which was delicious and got taken to our room. As we were there during rainy season our bungalow was above the water which was amazing and they had prepared it beautifully. We did various activities over the next few days and loved all of them. There was one guide per couple / room for the whole stay and they were all incrediby knowledgeable. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was superb, so many fresh flavours. One one of the days we caught some fish and they prepared them for us there, again everything just delicious. We would 100% recommend this place to anybody wanting to explore the Amazon region.
