Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Beautifully restored & appointed, this boutique hotel is conveniently located in the quaint older part of Ilheus. It is about 10 minutes from the airport (Uber ride is approx. Rs 10), which adds to the convenience. At reception, I was greeted by Luis who is probably the best ambassador I have come across: he was kind, cheerful, effective and helpful. He recommended a few sights & restaurants, all of which were lovely. Warmly recommended & I would not hesitate to book again if I visit the area again.

AustraliaMy room was close to the reception and breakfast area, I could hear some guests talking loud in the evening and I could hear some noise at the breakfast in the morning. But it didn't last that late in the evening.
Beautiful boutique hotel well located downtown Ilheus. I chose the hotel because it was between the bus station and the airport and I was very happy with my choice. The hotel is quiet and nicely decorated, the room is clean and comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and the staff is helpful, smiling and professional.

IrelandI've been travelling via Booking.com all over the world and never came across a hotel asking to submit a payment outside of the platform before check-in. There was no information about this in their listing. I thought it was quite unusual, but still followed the process of paying via money transfer and sending the email as per instructions. When I arrived at the hotel, the male manager had a very arrogant attitude informing that my payment was not received. I offered to send proof of payment again ,(which was processed more than a month beforehand) and the manager said there was no need as he was going to investigate. When leaving the hotel ready for dinner, he stopped me to say he could not find my email and I had to spend some of my limited time of my trip to send the proof of payment via WhatsApp. He spoke to me with a very accusatory tone and never apologized for the messy accounting system they have. The ladies that work in the hotel were lovely though. My advice to the hotel is to explain on the hotel page that payment is done outside of platform and to sort out their messy processes and have some politenness and manners towards their guests.
Breakfast was delicious, the ladies that work there are friendly and the hotel is very central.
