Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom decor is quite outdated and uninviting. Not uncomfortable though.
Fantastic location next to the airport and close to the falls. Variety of indoor and outdoor pools, playgrounds for kids. Friendly staff

PhilippinesI agree with the other comments that the rooms look tired. However, these were comfortable for a one-night stay. Tip: check their minibar packages for bottled water.
I didn't want to stay the main town but opted for something closer to the falls. Hotel Colonial Iguazu was located a short ride from the airport. The reservation came with a free pick-up from the airport. While there were no restaurants nearby, they had a restaurant which served delicious and reasonably priced meals. Service in the hotel was excellent. I would recommend to stay here. I also liked that they have a tour agency in their lobby. I availed for the falls ticket and pick-up, tickets for the bird sanctuary and private transfer to my hotel in Puerto Iguazu. Very convenient.

SwitzerlandThe food selection wasn’t good. Snack bar had poor quality food. Breakfast bar and evening buffet had a wide selection but not many healthy options.
Good location. Walking distance from the national park, however roadworks meant it wasn’t an easy walk. Close to airport. Great staff running excursions and offering drop off and pick ups.

United KingdomRestaurant service is variable. Tends to be a bit disorganised in restocking the buffet at breakfast and will often forget to bring out bowls or spoons, etc. But the breakfast itself is really good.
Probably the best choice if you want to be near both the airport and the falls and if you don’t want to be in Foz city. Free airport shuttle and very good shuttle service to the falls for a reasonable fee. Food is not expensive either. Room is nice enough and the pool is nice, especially for families with kids

United KingdomBreakfast service can be a little slow to replenish the buffet and clear tables, but this is a small issue and generally we were very pleased with our stay here.
This is the perfect location for exploring the magnificent Iguazu Falls, very close to the airport (free transfer) and a 5-minute ride to the National Park for a small fee. Both services are very quick and efficient. Room was OK with decent wifi, pool area very pleasant and reception and tour staff extremely helpful and efficient. Breakfast buffet was very varied and the food quality good, evening meal buffet food was also very acceptable and very reasonably priced.

Some way out of town but convenient for airport and Falls. Property was generally tired, bug nets to windows didn’t fit but pool was nice. Would suit families more than couples.

United KingdomDated bedroom with lack of furniture to put clothes away and no hooks on doors. Dangerous drain hole in middle of shower floor with sharp ceramic edge ! Only one chair and one bedside lamp in a family room. No tea/coffee facility. Disappointing dining a la carte menu. Chef had little imagination and food was basic and boring - over priced. Over priced wine so we stayed on beer.
Clean room and daily house-keeping. Friendly staff. Close to airport and entrance to National Park. Free shuttle bus to and from airport. Very large breakfast choice - good experience! Swimming pool and lovely back garden.

AustraliaFor a 10 I would fix the pool step which is unstable.
Our stay at Hotel Colonial Iguassú was excellent. Their buffet breakfast was fantastic. Their tourism desk extremely friendly, efficient and accomodating. They have a shuttle service to and from the airport which is 5 min away and it is easy to organise transport anywhere you wish to go. The hotel also has two very good shops selling souvenirs and gift, including beautiful semi precious stone rings. Location is peaceful and colonial in atmosphere.

Canadathe room was a bit unusual, and there was an extra bed shoved into a corner that we didn't end up using at all. Even though the room was small, we only ended up really spending time in one corner because it was shaped so weirdly, and you couldn't see each other or TV from the other side. There were also lots of mosquitos, and the walls and ceilings were filled with cracks and small stains. However, it's not hard to get used to, and didn't take away too much from my stay.
food was delicious, the pool was very nice. once you nestle into the room it's actually quite comfortable. The employees also spoke great English. It made for a pleasant experience, and I'd consider coming back again.

United KingdomIt was a bit tricky that no staff spoke English, but with Spanish we could communicate what we needed. There was confusion about the shuttle to the waterfalls and we ended up waiting quite a long time and paying about $10 to get there.
We liked the pick up service from airport and the proximity to the waterfall. We enjoyed having a late lunch by the pool too.

NetherlandsThe digital check in is not very efficient and take longer than old fashion check in. Some of the personal/staff are not very friendly. The transfer service is mostly very good, but sometime (due to lack of personnel?) you have to wait too long to be driven of picked up.
- Very good location between Airport and National Park Iguacu - Very good breakfast - Transfer facilities to National Park and Airport (to Airport free of charge, to National Park very reasonable) -Comfortable room and bed - Most of the personnel/staff are really nice and friendly (Esther and the lady at the shop (evening) are very nice)
