It would be great if the beds had curtains all around and not just on the sides. The location is good, but it's up the hill so make sure to take that into account. It wasn't a problem for us and there are some Moto taxis at the bottom that can bring you up.

The atmosphere was really nice and the staff was super friendly! We loved sitting on the balcony. There is a small restaurant next door which was very affordable and delicious. The beds have curtains and there are many bathrooms for everyone. Easy to get in with code. We didn't have any issues with the taxis dropping us off at the top of the hill.

It was not allowed to use the kitchen from 23:00 till 07:00 even to make coffee or tee

4 beds dormitory has actually 5 beds and is less spacious than you would think from the photos, first night I slept on a broken bed which was very uncomfortable, mattress is not that great, Karaoke night every night

We stayed there for carnival at a massively inflated rate (around 5x the normal price), hoping it would be worth it for some atmosphere and the nice location in Copacabana. Unfortunately the hostel is very unsocial, and the location isn't really beneficial for carnival. Whilst it's generally a nice hostel to stay at, at the inflated price, I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there for carnival.

The top bunks don't have access to electricity and in general the two rooms that I stayed in didn't have enough charging stations for all the people staying in the rooms. The room smelled a bit like urine. I wish the breakfast is not vegan friendly.

This property is really unique and fun. The kitchen area is really nice. The property has karaoke (every night?), which made the hostel quite social if that's what you were looking for. The rooftop, although very small, is very cozy and has a nice hammock. The rooms are large. The staff are very friendly and social and communicate well in English. I like that Leme is basically on the North end of Copacabana Beach, because then you can walk the whole distance of the beach without starting in the middle and backtracking. It's also easy access to downtown by uber or metro. Plenty of shopping nearby that is open fairly late. The street feels more residential. Prepare yourself for a hike if you're walking up from the beach. I personally enjoyed this.

The hostel is very welcoming and colourful. The staff is helpful for any kind of info. The only thing is that you have to climb a hill for 10 minutes :(

The hostel is located on the top of street, between 2 favelas. You have to walk for 10 minutes up the hill which is kind of tough. Normally it’s safe. They say people walk here even during the night, with their phone in the hands. It’s up to you if you want to take the risk. You have to do your own bed. There are no sheets when you arrive. Some of the sheets are old, with holes in them The hostel smelled strongly like pee when I arrived. It kept smelling all the time I stayed there. I told them about it and they say they don’t smell anything :) I think it’s because of the cat and dog that are staying there. The door of the shower is uncomfortable to open and there is always water on the floor coming from the showers.

I've always liked this hostel from previous experience. The staff and the atmosphere, as well as more personality within the building and investment too through the new roof for the terrace. Huge improvement to the breakfast too. Actually was served with loads more choice. Will come back again 🙂

Our room had a funny smell in it because the air-conditioner kept leaking at night and it was molding. To get back to the hostel, you had to walk up a weird road; take an uber at night.

It was a okay hostel, nothing special. Location is close to the beach so great during the day.

general: in the end it’s not a great location in Rio, it’s walking distance to the beach but very far from the metro. however all Ubers we called got us there and pick us up from there with no problem private room: in general could be cleaner in the details (corners, inside wardrobe, etc) female dorm: was very awful, socket and lamp were not working in my bed and it smelled really really bad, I almost could not sleep because of how much it bothered me (told staff and they were going to look into it)

I stayed in the private room with my boyfriend and ended up extending one night alone in the female dorm. general: great water pressure, very competitive prices private room: very nice balcony, very nice price, clean sheets and linen dorm: curtains, socket in bed and night lamp

For anyone that doesn’t speak Spanish or portugués, very difficult to find comfort.

Everything is comfortable. Staff is very attentive and easy to meet people if you’re willing to come out of your shell.
